Looks like we'll get our first look at Tyquan Lewis this Sunday:

Good.
Our defense was working best when we had good D-Line play. Hopefully, Hunt is back to 100%, Sheard & Turay are ready to come off the edges and guys like Lewis, Muhammad, Ridgeway and Woods are ready to pusht he middle. If our defense can get back to doing what they were doing the first 4 weeks of the season with our offense doing what they have been doing in the past 3 weeks, we will win A LOT of games in the second half of the season. Walk Worthy, |
Wild I misunderstood the IR return rules. I thought an IR return could not return until week 11, and only after being out at least 8 weeks. I didnt realize that Only the 8 week rule was in place.
This is ahead of schedule compared to what Reich said after the raiders game: Quote:

I wonder if they will keep him on a snap count
|
I think it's possible that they dont?
The reason I'm saying is that he was out the minimum of 8 weeks. To me that suggests that it is possible that he was ready to go a couple weeks ago. Homer says he could come out there and be a huge difference maker, plus no one has film on the guy since pre-season, and I doubt that Jax expected his return... |
Some people in the front office are talking him up quite a bit. Hopefully they’re right.

It’s not likely. Yeah it’d be awesome. But he’s a rookie with no NFL experience coming off a serious injury. I am hoping to see some flashes of what he does well, and notable progress through the rest of the season. |

Bet he's on a snap count moreso because he's young than anything. He doesn't need to be anything other than rotational in his first game.

Still, I think the praise is getting a little out of hand. Can’t wait for those impatient fans wondering why he is a bust because he doesn’t have a couple sacks in the first few weeks. As racehorse said, it takes several weeks to get in game shape, assuming he has been keeping himself in shape. Also you see a lot of guys get reinjured if they haven’t played in awhile; ie Dez Bryant. He may play the warren sapp 3-tech role. But Sapp was like 312 pounds, Lewis is 260-270? Big difference there. Still it will be nice seeing him out there and applying pressure up the middle. I just like to temper expectations till I actually see him play a little. |
