Good riddance.

FatDT 10-04-2018 04:15 PM

What a waste. Should've kept Simon.

But good riddance. I know he just had a kid so the timing probably sucks for him but he should've tried harder.

Chromeburn 10-04-2018 04:53 PM

Uh I bet he goes to the practice squad

1965southpaw 10-04-2018 05:22 PM

Some (Mike Chappel/Big Joe) are suggesting he was waived to make room on the roster due to injuries and that he may be brought back to practice squad if he's not picked up.

That's fine. He can be on the practice squad. He has no business on the active roster though.

Thorgrim 10-04-2018 07:31 PM

Wouldn’t waste a ps spot on him either.

omahacolt 10-04-2018 08:07 PM

Ballard’s draft last year looks terrible.

I give him a mulligan on it. Look at what he did when this year with his own team on board for a year.

Walker looks good. Hooker does as well. Mack is solid when healthy.

Mack might be the most over rated colts player in history

Both of these things are true.

Some guys need an extra year or two in the league before catching on.

Last year, I would have said that we could get rid of Le'Raven Clark and not miss anything. Heck, I would not have been surprised if he did not make the 53 man roster this season. However, he has performed pretty well for a 3rd year player whom had not had a ton of game time this season so far.

Desir was pure depth/special teams for his entire career before coming to the Colts.

Obviously, Hunt was nowhere the football player he is with us when at CIN.

Some players just need extra time. That being said, I don't know if Basham will ever mature but him spending more time on the PS does not hurt the team in the long run.

Walk Worthy,

Hooker is underperforming

Walker has been ok

Mack can’t get on the field.

I still say that is at least in part on Eberflus for using him way too far back a lot of the time, where he isn't possibly going to make plays.

I agree. And I watched him last week on gamepass to see what he was doing. He does fine in coverage. But he seems to have no ability to read a play in front of him and come up and do something.

Geathers is way more instinctual and active. And that isn’t all scheme imo. We need to play more cover 3.

Agree that part is on him. I think I remember reading that he came into football kinda late. He will never reach his potential if he doesn't develop the ability to read the QB, read the offense, and get to the spot before the ball does.

Completely agree on playing more Cover 3. I am getting the idea that Eberflus is more of a front 7 guy and is weaker on how best to use his DBs.

[QUOTE=omahacolt;84400]Hooker is underperforming

Agreed, especially when compared to last year. I'm wondering how much is due to his injury? Some players take a year or so to completely recover.

he blew an ACL. He might be ok to play, but he won't see his old speed until next year

Disappointing outcome to be sure but I still think the roster is heading in the right direction. One more solid draft and some liberal spending in free agency next year and this ship could be righted.

Maybe, and I doubt Ballard is thrilled. With all the injuries I can understand why they risked him to waivers.

Why is that a big deal? It's not like you lost money. Third rounders fail often. That's why they get taken in the third round.

Why do you defend everything? Missing on a 3rd round pick is terrible. Sure it happens but it is never ok

It's a big deal because my team spent a 3rd on him and got no return on investment. 3rd rounders do fail, but they don't usually fail this badly. 3rd rounders are valuable, any pick in the top 100 is valuable.

I do also, and last years class isn't done yet. I'm still hoping Wilson and Mack will start contributing soon. Stewert has been playing well, Walker fits this defense well and I think he is back to his playing weight he was at his junior year. That was the year he was stellar and predicted to be a top 60 pick. And of course Hairston has been great.

They just want intel from him, lol.

On a serious note, since he was no longer on our practice squad, they don't have to keep him for the entire season. They could cut him tomorrow if they choose.

Even if he was on our practice squad, they aren't required to pay that player for an entire season. They are required to sign them to their active roster. They can release them anytime, but they must pay them for a minimum of 3 weeks even if released before then.

That doesn't apply here of course, but that's what I read the requirement is.
