CB Bashaud Breeland to visit Colts
Free agent CB Bashaud Breeland has visits scheduled with the Colts and Browns this week.
That's in addition to his visits with the Raiders and Chiefs the past 2-3 days. This is the second time the Colts have checked in on Breeland; they also had him in for a visit in May. Breeland had a $24 million deal voided by the Panthers in March after he injured his foot. Breeland is a top player left on the market. There's no question he can play. He just needs to prove healthy. Source: Rob Demovsky on Twitter Jul 23 - 9:16 PM :cool: |

In another thread I said that we should pick up Breeland instead of paying a cap penalty to the players association. Not sure if we are still in that financial landscape.
Certainly not if he isn't healthy, but if he is healthy it seems like a solid FA signing. |

Breeland would probably start alongside Wilson. I'd feel way better about our CBs with guys like Hairston and Desir as nickel/depth instead of fighting for a starting job.

I don't think the $$ Ballard is sitting on is that big of a deal. I would rather a GM show some discipline and stick to the $ amount they think a guy is worth. Apparently the other teams in the NFL don't want to pay him what he thinks he is worth, so there is time for a deal to be made. |

$16.5m. That is what Ballard needs to spend of 2018-2019 NFL year money in order to not trigger the salary cap floor penalty for the rolling 4-year period. New contracts or new money to existing players all counts. If he does not spend it on free agents, he could do a contract extension in 2018 for a guy like Good or Vinny or someone else that he would "re-sign" in 2019 but instead do it during the 2018 season and have it count towards this year's money. But, he need to spend $16.5m more in player money to avoid the penalty. Walk Worthy, |

...which makes it seem a bit strange that they didn't roll the dice with even one higher priced splash move. So are they going to be heavy shoppers during the cut down periods? Bizarre, if so.

The Colts could spend money on a vet, like Costanzo and extend him. I'm sorry I asked a question. I'm not a troll. I don't care about Jim Irsay's millions of dollars. It's all monopoy money from where I sit. |
Take some of that $16.5M and buy a linebacker or two.

I saw on Reddit they signed the Shamarknado guy

@FieldYates
Source: free agent CB Bashaud Breeland has left his visit with the Chiefs without a deal. That doesn't mean he has ruled out signing with KC, but for now he's on to another visit(s). The Colts are amongst the other suitors. |
@RapSheet
Free agent CB Bashaud Breeland landed in Indianapolis last night and is going on his second visit with the #Colts today, source said. There was mutual interest last time, but Breeland wasn’t healthy enough. It could come together this time. He was in KC yesterday. |

Breeland is now on his way to Cleveland, then Baltimore and possibly the Jets, looking for the most money I would assume. My question, is this guy worth all the hype ???

I'll make this promise right now. I will never insult anyone I don't agree with. IF I do, you call it and I'll leave. How's that? |

@HolderStephen
At this point, my reporting gives no indication that Bashaud Breeland will land in Indianapolis. My sense is they’ll stand pat with the group of corners they have. We’ll see if anything changes, but I’d be surprised. #ColtsCamp |
