Playoffs!!!!! (insert mora rant here)

Indianapolis Colts: How short is road to the playoffs in 2018?

Got to love an optimist...

The Indianapolis Colts obviously need Andrew Luck healthy to be competitive in 2018, so how short is their road to the playoffs? The AFC South is damn competitive, but the Colts fortunes point straight up.
No matter how poor or successful a team’s season was, there are always major offseason questions on the front burner. The NFL turns over too much for even the best teams to advance a calendar year unscathed. Let’s continue the team-by-team overview with the Indianapolis Colts.

The usual off-season speculation based on best-case scenarios. The days of walking through the division just because you have a good quarterback are long gone.

The AFC South will certainly be more competitive, but it should require no more than a 10 and 6 record to win the division. I think the teams will knock each other around with no team getting such an advantage that they can manage a 13 win season.

No team ever walked through a division because of a good QB. That takes an elite QB. If Luck can return to that level of play, this could certainly be a playoff team and maybe even a division winner. This team will need a defense to be anything more than that, though.

The picture of Luck with his bike at the Indy 500 is very encouraging. The guy looks ripped. Only time will tell but if he’s back the Colts have as good a chance as anyone in this division

It's the busted up stuff INSIDE that may be the problem. But it's good to see him in good shape.

I don't see it this year, even if Luck is the best Luck ever.

To much turnover, much needed turn over granted, but the AFC South has gotten pretty decent again. This bunch may jell into a good team but not overnight

Of course you don't, and your off-season "IndyAmber" routine hasn't taken you off the radar.

At this time of year you never know. Stranger things have happened. I had the misfortune of watching Super Bowl III and the 1969 Mets. I have hope with a little faith sprinkled in. It will be fun to watch either way. If they don’t miss ake it, I will enjoy seeing the progression from the last regime

ESPN’s Football Power Index projects the Colts to win 6.8 games next season.
FPI gives them a 17% chance at making the playoffs, and a 9% chance of winning an AFC South division that could be the strongest it’s been in years. The Jaguars and Titans are coming off of years where they each won a playoff game, and the Texans have high hopes for 2018 with a healthy Deshaun Watson.

According to ESPN’s metrics, Indianapolis has a 1% chance of reaching next year’s Super Bowl and a less than 1% chance of taking home the Lombardi Trophy.

Sounds familiar

The odds are really against us. Makes it that much more fun when we beat those odds

It'd be cool. Like the old Jack Trudeau era the year they made the big run

Jim Harbaugh about got us to a Super Bowl, Andrew Luck is a thousand times better than Harbaugh...just saying...

Maybe so. But Jim was very underated and could make a mediocre team look a lot better than it was Much like Luck.

A lot of you are too young to remember how much Harbaugh brought to the Colts. Shit was exciting back in the day

Just saying

I'm not young anymore, Harbaugh's greatest attribute was his heart, and Luck has that, and more talent, I think with a healthy Luck we can win against almost any team.

If he is lifting enough weight to put on that kind of muscle, then his shoulder is not "busted up inside"

I am guessing he is referring to luck's head

I don't think anyone is diminishing Harbaugh and what he did for this franchise. Captain Comeback will always hold a special place in Colts fans.

Should have gone to the superbowl. Dammit Coryatt, number two picks shouldn't drop the ball like that.

Remember that play vividly, my emotions when it looked like he had the pick were soaring, I was thinking we were going to the Super Bowl. Then he dropped it...thud.

Don't forget AAron Bailey dropping a TD at the end of the game.

Yep, the hail mary, but if Coryatt gets that pick six we don't need the hail mary.

Should have been hired as our coach after the 2014 season.

1999, went from 3-13 in 98 to 13-3. It can and does happen. In fact, darn near every year at least one team goes from worst to first in their division.
