Anyone hear the Will Carroll JMV segment tonight?
You can listen to it here:
https://omny.fm/shows/the-ride-with-...tise-of-andrew The comments about him seeing several specialists and no definitive diagnosis among them and the Colts subsequently wanting him to throw... wow, if that's true, well I'm sure it's fake news of course, of course it is... |
Will Carroll also says (on Twitter) that Pagano is definitely done. Irsay doesn’t want to fire in-season to indicate to potential candidates that he’s willing to be patient. And there’s a short list of candidates that wouldn’t surprise us.
IMO, probably Toub, Gruden, Harbaugh at least. |

The reports, even from Ballard are he has seen specialistS. One can only reasonably deduce that all these specialists are going to pull MRI's- either trusting one already done or more than likely given their specialty- having one conducted by their hand chosen MRI tech. So, if Carroll is correct- and none of these specialists are saying the diagnosis is "XY and Z", then that, to me, says there's not a medically identifiable problem that is preventing him from throwing the football. That in turn sure does seem to lend some credibility to the "between the ears" comment from Jim some months back, and that to me, lends a lot of credence to Luck possibly just looking at this whole cluster fuck of a shit show and saying "wow, my shoulder really hurts, I don't think I got this in me right now"... Yeah I know no one wants to think that a real possibility, but just look around at the global dysfunction of this organization- it's a train wreck and getting sacked 10 times in a game- not gonna do a reconstructed shoulder a whole lot of good! |
I have never met Andrew Luck and don't know him. But as much as you can tell someone's personality through the media and how he handles himself on the field, I would bet anything that if Anderw says he's hurting, then he is hurting.
|
I listened to the podcast about 30 minutes ago. I wouldn't be surprised at all if Luck is done. I hope like hell he isn't, but I wouldn't be surprised. Kid might choose to retire.

I have no idea what to think of any of this anymore. I think there is some credibility to the "between the ears" stuff just because of who's saying it. JMV doesn't overplay his Colts inside scoops, but he's rarely wrong (if ever) and has been hinting at that.
|
I still don't think Luck's career is over, but the more discussions that are going on about the possibility really starts to make you wonder if there may be some truth there.
|
Hopefully we're all being chicken little's about this, but there sure is a lot of smoke suggesting that Luck is done for good. I hope the dumb fuck twins are proud of themselves

I get just the opposite impression from the story than "Andrew Luck is done".
If he is seeing multiple specialists and they are not finding anything wrong, that means he needs time and to work through the rehab process. If there was something they are finding wrong and trying to fix it and can't, then he might be done. |

Racehorse touched on Brees' past injury in another thread. I wasn't sure but Brees did, in fact, tear his labrum. James Andrews has said in the past Brees' recovery from that injury is the most remarkable he's ever witnessed. Hopefully Brees is not the exception to the rule. I am skeptical that others should expect to be so lucky and could see Luck attempting to come back just to have his shoulder let him down. |

As for labrum injuries, Rich Hill started two games in the World Series after having what the doctor described as the “worst looking shoulder” injury he’d seen. |

I refuse to believe he's considering retirement. He's never even hinted at that and has ALWAYS said he'd be back better than ever. |

This isn't Rapelessburger or Vince Young we are talking about here- we're talking a veritable genius. If you don't think a guy this smart, backed by a dad who has done absolutely everything you could imagine within the industry of high level sports, isn't looking at this globally and looking at this organization and having his stomach gurgle at the potential damage that could be done to him that could negatively impact his life for the next 40 years, well that's just naive. If no medical obstacle and the org wants him to throw and he's not- there's an issue with the relationship between the player and the org. OR, the player doesn't want to play the game anymore. I'm speculating it is the first and this is a very discreet way for him to try to delicately escape without being made a huge enemy of the state. |
I am fine with Luck taking another year if he wants to rehab from this and taking it slow
There is no need for him to rush or push it to come back. If he is just slow playing it because he is dissatisfied with the team and doesn't want to step on the field behind a bad line with a bad team, I am fine with that as well |

it could also be that top brass (not pagano) is delaying his return because the season isnt going anywhere and he isnt 100%. I think if the surgery had gone well and he rehabed well he would be playing. Since there are still some lingering issues, they are not putting him out there with this team. He wont play until next year.
