One game doesn't make the season

We need to suck a few more times before I get pissed. ;)

I’m not even pissed just in total disbelief at the lack of heart and fire on this team.

Disbelief in the coaching staff who continually got killed by Flowers and we all know the threat that Jackson is yet there was still no plan in place once he broke the pocket.

The special teams was a disaster all day.

I’m over it… these guys NEED to be playing in the preseason

Mr. Session 09-14-2026 10:49 AM

I've been apathetic for a while anyway.

I never really get mad at them anymore though, just myself for doing this year after year.

We're certifiably insane.

Hoopsdoc 09-14-2026 11:17 AM

Seems like the same issues year after year. I’ve been apathetic as well for a while now. The last year I was excited going into the season was AR’s 2nd year, after he showed so much promise as a rookie.

Since then, meh.

The Colts won’t go anywhere until they get a franchise quarterback. Jones sucks.

sherck 09-14-2026 11:30 AM

I will be watching this season for fun because I think we are going to be the same slow-motion car wreck that you see coming but cannot turn away from watching.

New management, new system, new direction in 2027 which sort of sucks because of the lack of a 1st round draft choice in a QB heavy draft but it is what it is.

Hopefully, we can get a solid QB prospect with the 33rd pick of the draft.

Not mad but more like sad.

One game cab make a difference. Teams have won 11 games and stayed home.

How many seasons have it been the Colts have become the Chokes. It's now a pattern.

Oldcolt 09-14-2026 12:15 PM

This isn't just one game. It is a continuation of a decade of failure. Not getting rid of Ballard last year has cast a huge pall over this fanbase. Just look at what this board has become. Only a few die hards left and nothing to even argue about. It sucks having zero emotional investment in these people but who is masochistic enough to invest in this group? Everyone in the organization seems to take this shit as just fine. Nobody got pissed with the complete debacle that last year turned into, just found the ususal excuses losers always find. Our leader, Carrie, in her wisdom decided that if we just tried a little harder we would all be fine. I'm hoping she becomes a raving bitch about this bullshit we experiencing but wont be holding my breathe. Billions make the pain much less I would imagine. I continue to watch this crap because in 73 and have been doing it since i was 10. My long long shot for the season is AR somehow gets a shot and shows improvement enough that we can start to believe. Not going to happen but i need something to think 'positive' about. And i'm still fucking pissed.

Those 2 concepts are not mutually exclusive, or mutually inclusive.

I'm pissed.

And I am fully aware that one game does not make a season ...... even in the days of when the Colts were perennial contenders when Peyton Manning and Andrew Luck taking snaps behind the center, there were numerous times in which their Opening Day games were clunkers.

Banger right here.
Complacent performance, by a complacent organization from the corner office to the water boy- complacency!

We suffered a historical collapse last year, stuff that will be noted in NFL history for the ineptitude that we exhibited in going 0-7 to end a season. The team was so thin at the most important position in sports, we brought in a 40 year old man with a pool noodle connected to his shoulder with no camp- because that was the BEST we could come up with. One of the most train wreck endings to a season that has ever been.

The result- the only real competition in training camp, was at kicker.

This organization is so trash.

albany ed 09-14-2026 02:43 PM

It appears that there's a book on Jones and it's that he panics under a pressure pass rush. There needs to be some designed plays that he can effectively handle when that happens. And until he can, it's going to happen more and more.

So, I am retiring this week after 31 years of federal service; 8 on active duty and now 23 as a civilian employee.

As I was cleaning out my desk, I came to my....large....collection of Colts game day booklets, flags, newspaper articles, books, tchotchkes, and other Colts related stuff...

...and, the vast majority went in the trash.

I saved the commerative Super Bowl football from our win, the SB41 flag a buddy got me from that same game, the game booklet from when Marvin went in the Ring of Honor and that was about it. Decades of Colts memories and I decided that I would be happy with the memories and did not need the stuff.

They are my team; that will not change. I will still watch them every weekend as life permits but I cannot even begin to express on how unenergized I am by our current roster. Beyond Nelson, JT, Warren, Pierce, Downs, Buck, Grover and Sauce, I don't have a ton of investment in them as Colts players and I don't have high expectations of them.

We are just on the wrong track and will not ever be competitive with our current leadership, management and player group. Change needs to happen for excitment to enter into the equation again for me.

If true that is not a good thing if your aim is to contend. Good teams pressure the QB (I remember when we could) and you need to be able to withstand that and win against it.

Congratulations man, I still believe this team is better than that

DragonTails 09-14-2026 10:38 PM

If only we had a good RB and TE to hit short passes. Oh, wait.

DragonTails 09-14-2026 10:42 PM

Will 0-5 make a season? First win at Tenn.

Seeing the Chiefs tonight I'd say 0-2 is a lock!

The Colts might start the season at 0-3 ...... after the Chiefs, they play the Texans.

That's the bad news.

The good news is that the team's schedule gets easier after that brutal 3-game stretch.

Three teams that have many experts predicting them to hoist the Lombardi this year:

Rams - lost by 20 points
Packers - lost by 17
Broncos - lost by 21

Like I said in the title, 1 game doesn't make the season

BCN#1 09-15-2026 03:12 PM

I get the doom and gloom but I am stupid and will keep hoping we pull our collective heads out of our asses starting with the Chiefs who we have beaten before when the odds were against us.

BTW - Reading where lots of fingers pointing at Steichen and Ballard yet not a single word that I have read specifically calling out Lou since our amazing ever changeable defense that we have heavily invested in and have long heard about, shit the bed royally. Methinks there needs to be a harder look there also.

Kray007 09-15-2026 03:50 PM

There was no one higher on the Colts chances vs the Ravens than me. I was wrong, but I am undaunted.

One game does not, in fact, make a season.

This kind of reminds me of a quote by John F Kennedy: “Victory has a hundred fathers, defeat is an orphan.” Another that comes to me was written by an American patriot in the winter of 1776. “These are the times that try men's souls.”

I’m not suggesting that anyone here is a sunshine patriot, but you don’t abandon ship merely because the first salvo hit the mizzen mast.

apballin 09-15-2026 04:43 PM

Bob Sanders ain’t walking thru that door…

However Cam Taylor Britt is

Start Boettcher

Start Wohler

Give Curry more plays in pass rush situations

Oldcolt 09-15-2026 05:38 PM

Lou is saying there were big mixups in the defense. Calls were missed. Who would have guessed having a safety make the defensive calls makes it hard for everyone to hear what the call was

I agree with Lou, huge mixups on D, starting with the idiot wearing the headset on the sidelines. He absolutely blows as DC.
