I'll have to settle for the game broadcast on SXM tonight. I don't pay for the ESPN. Wish YouTube would show it, I pay for NFL there.

Can't see us keeping this one within 3 scores. Think everyone from the fans to the players, to the coaches, have come to the collective realization that a once promising season has evaporated and we're back to being the meh team that just wants to get to the island and the pool bar to drown the pain.

You said something similar to this last week. Something like Seattle winning by 3+ TDs. Hopefully, you're even less accurate this week. ;)

Without question, this is one of the craziest personnel developments in the history of the NFL. I just cannot get my head around any way this goes well. Box stacked, Steichen losing patience and asking Rivers to wing it ...... there is no way that this can be a positive outcome ...... we will lose by at least 3 TD's today.

The 9ers will jump everything and choke all the short routes if they’re smart because Grandpa Phil may be smart but he just can’t throw the ball anymore.

It doesn’t matter how smart you are if defenses can effectively ignore everything more than 15 yards downfield. You can’t give NFL defenses that kind of advantage.

There’s a part of me that wishes we had just rode it out with Leonard.

HoosierinFL 12-22-2025 03:18 PM

As in the past few years, the colts have a slim shot at the playoffs, and winning can only help that happen. Also as in previous years, the colts will lose and ruin whatever chance they had.

When you have 6 pro bowl’ers sitting on the bench, it’s hard to add to the win column. Kansas City is in far less dire straits, and they got blown out by one of the worst teams in the league.

9ers have had a hell of an injury plague this year as well. They are very much in contention for the # 1 seed in the NFC.

Depth matters. Playing to your strengths also matters.

Personally, I think that part of Rivers problem vs Seattle, beyond the fact that the Seahawks are pretty good, was that he didn’t have much practice time with his receivers. I’m not sure how much the experience of a full game and three extra practices will help, but I have to assume that he’s somewhat farther along in building rapport with his teammates than he was a week ago.

The real problem isn’t his lack of arm strength. It is possible for a Quarterback to succeed using a short and intermediate passing game. The bigger problem is the absence of both bookend Offensive Tackles. Pittman, Pierce, Downs, and company might not have time to work their way open before an immobile Rivers is inundated by pass rushers.

Colts win tonight

49ers defense isn’t on the level of any defense this team has played in the last month. It’s time for Taylor to get back on track

Colts will score more than 20 tonight

Colts 27

49ers 17

I didn’t hear no bell!! Win out you sons of bitches cuz jimmy loves you!!

Win for Jim!

You’re right that missing the tackles is going to be a problem. And you can be successful with a short and intermediate passing game. But there has to be at least the POSSIBILITY of a deep ball or the defense will just compress and attack everything, because they don’t have to worry about someone getting behind them. And at this point Rivers isn’t capable of throwing deep.

Steichen might be able to conjure up something with smoke and mirrors but the Colts aren’t going anywhere if Rivers can’t throw it deep.

Yeah, but…the devil is in the details.

The 49’ers started 4-1, then feasted against one of the easiest schedules in the league. Their last 6 wins came against a string of bottom feeders with a cumulative 25 wins. Since they beat the Rams in week 5, they’ve faced 2 opponents above .500 and lost those games by a total of 27 points.

Puck 12-22-2025 07:49 PM

We are down the 2 tackles. But 9ers defense is not as good as Seattle and they lack a pass rush

Rivers should have more time to get the ball out. Not saying it is a given, but not sure we will win but I am not counting the Colts out.

What an embarrassment to have to wear those threads.
We’ll probably lose 33-0

Uncle Phil with as many yards on the first drive as the entire Seattle game

CletusPyle 12-22-2025 09:37 PM

Defense is going to have to be a lot better for us to have a chance!

Hoopsdoc 12-22-2025 09:37 PM

That was WAY too easy. Sheeesh.

Puck 12-22-2025 09:37 PM

Where the fuck is the defense

YDFL Commish 12-22-2025 09:37 PM

As usual, no pass rush.

apballin 12-22-2025 09:37 PM

Cmon defense wtf

Hoopsdoc 12-22-2025 09:39 PM

Swiss cheese defense.

Jesus. I think McCaffrey had one 2 yard run. Everything else was at least 6 yards.

nate505 12-22-2025 09:39 PM

As great and as fun as the first drive was, that drive by the 9ers just sucked the wind out of the stadium. Man that was far too easy.

Hoopsdoc 12-22-2025 09:40 PM

God damnit.
