QB's (2) - Jones, Richardson (I would cut Leonard, as i don't believe any other teams will pick him up, he will make the practice squad).
RB's (3) - Taylor, Giddens, Goodson WR's (6) - Pittman, Pierce, Downs, Mitchell, Dulin, Gould, TE's (5) Warren, Alie-Cox, Ogletree, Mallory, Woods (Woods is a better player than Leonard, and i don't want to cut him and lose him to another team, injuries are bound to happen) Oline (10)- Raimann, Nelson, Bortolini, Goncalves, Smith, Travis, Tucker, Pinter, Tenuta DE's (5)- Latu, Paye, Ebukam, Tuimoloau, Land (I think Tyquan Lewis could be a surprise cut) DT's (5)- Buckner, Stewart, Gallimore, Johnson, Adebawore LB's (4)- Franklin, McGrone, Bachie, Carlies S (4)- Bynum, Cross, Thomas, Scott CB's (6)- Ward, Howard, Moore, Jones, Brents, Womack (Brents and Womack could be usurped by any of Edwards, Johnson or Lammons) ST's (3)- Schrader, Sanchez, Rhodes Practice Squad 1. QB Leonard 2.RB Bentley 3.WR Coleman Owen (he looked really good in preseason and i think could be an excellent player) 4.WR Treadwell 5.G Sills 6. T Foerner 7. TE McKeon 8. RB Herbert 9. DE Nchami 10. DT Tupou 11. DT Tim Smith 12. CB Edwards (Edwards, Johnson and Lammons have all looked very good in preseason) 13. CB Johnson 14. CB Lammons 15. LB Ajiaka 16. LB Olubi |
This year i feel comfortable with a lot of the guys on the practice squad being capable of actually playing regular season games if needed. Especially at receiver, CB, and RB. I can see we might try to pick up an offensive lineman, LBer and Safety on the waiver wire.

Offense
QB: Daniel Jones, Anthony Richardson, Riley Leonard Maybe the weakest group in the NFL, if Jones doesn't play well. RB: Jonathan Taylor, Tyler Goodsen, DJ Giddens Goodsen over over Giddens at #2, based on experience. It won't stay that way for long. TE: Tyler Warren, Mo Allie Cox, Will Mallory, Drew Ogletree I expect Warren to become the face of the franchise. The others...meh. IOL: Quentin Nelson, Tanor Bortolini, Matt Gonclves, Danny Pinter, Dalton Tucker Must add veteran depth. OT: Bernhard Raimann, Braden Smith, Jalen Travis, Luke Tenuta Must add veteran depth, although Goncalves could move to OT, if we had a veteran guard. WR: Michael Pittman, Alec Pierce, Josh Downs, Adonai Mitchell, Ashton Dulin, Anthony Gould Nothing much to say hear. A good to very good group, if AD Mitchell mans up and gets his head out of his ass. Do not throw AD slants or crossing routes, it will not end up good. Defense IDL: Deforest Buckner, Grover Stewart, Neville Gallimore, Eric Johnson, Adetomiwa Adebawore As long as Gallimore is better than the shit we've had in the past this unit will perform well. Edge: Kwity Paye, Laiatu Latu, Samson Ebukam, Tyquan Lewis,, JT Tuimoloau Latu is the key. Can he be great? LB: Zaire Franklin, Jaylon Carlies, Joe Bachie, Cameron Mcgrone, Austin Ajiake Anurumo doesn't emphasixe LB's, so I'm fine with this group. CB: Charvarius Ward, Jaylon Jones, Kenny Moore, Xavien Howard, Samuel Womack, Juju Brents Much better group than last season, provided they stay healthy. SAF: Nick Cross, Cam Bynum, Rodney Thomas, Daniel Scott Same here. Much better group than last season, provided they stay healthy. ST: Spencer Schrader, Rigoberto Sanchez, Luke Rhode Not much to say. Schrader>than Gay and cheaper too. |

Personally I don't see any way that Land, or Mallory would make it through waiver claims. |

I agree w/ a lot of what you guys are saying. I do think chances are slim to none that we release Leonard. We kept Ehlinger around for 4 years, and Leonard has shown more potential that Ehlinger did.
I also agree that Mallory and Woods will definitely not survive the waiver wire, and Land might not as well. In order to keep both Mallory and Woods we'll have to either make some tough cuts or get creative. Same goes w/ Land. Here's a couple of ideas I have: Release Tenuta then either sign him to the PS if he clears waivers or just outright re-sign him and place someone like Carlies, Ebukam, or Goodson on IR and designate them to return after they're healthy (Goodson will be tough to do unless we keep Herbert or Bentley). We'll need to open a roster spot when said IR player gets healthy, but we can cross that bridge when we come to it. Release Johnson II knowing that either him or Smith is likely to make it to our PS. Could also re-sign Johnson after putting someone on IR as stated above. Ade Ade could be a candidate for this as well. Also, I think Edwards makes the team as our 6th CB over Womack. Edit: Just now read that there was a rules change in 2024 that allows teams to place up to 2 players on IR designated to return on cutdown day. I totally missed seeing that. Anyway, it makes things easier to keep both Mallory and Woods, Land, etc. by placing someone like Carlies on IR tomorrow. |

I am guessing the 6th CB role now goes to Mekhi Blackmon. The Colts just picked him up from the Vikings for a 6th Round draft pick. He missed last season due to an ACL injury. |

That's OK ...... Ballard might do the same thing when he finalizes the roster. o |
A list of Cuts I've seen that happened ahead of the deadline, nothing particular of note in this list, all were long shots to make it
DT Devonta Davis LB Solomon DeShields CB Alex Johnson LN Joseph Vaughn DE Desmond Little RB Nate Noel TE Max Mang WR Blayne Taylor |
Holy smokes Jelani Woods is cut.
Also Austin Ajiake |

Here's to hoping he clears waivers and we sign him to the PS, but I really doubt that'll happen. |

That’s the least surprising cut they’ll make. And to be honest, he’s kind of redundant with Warren around. |
Also Wesley French gone, I thought he did OK a couple years ago but I guess this was no surprise.

I don't know Lloyd, the French are assholes.

Colts are waiving CB JuJu Brents.

Surprised about Brents, but I suppose the FO liked Edwards more at this point.
If AR doesn't turn it around do we consider '23 a horrible draft and possibly Ballard's worst? 2 years later out of 12 picks we have a really good slot WR, an ok CB, a backup QB, and 3 JAG depth guys left on the roster which includes Freeland. |
