Looks like the Colts are all in for Anthony Richardson, so I would love to see them go after Cam Scattebo in the 4th round to backup JT and maybe push him a little.

Agreed. Scattebo is one of my favorite players. Omaha is going to instantly hate him though There are still at least half a dozen good options at both RB and LB. LB is especially intriguing with Stutsman, Paul, Bassa, and a few others.

Shoddier Sanders, I mean Shittier Sanders is available. Dang autocorrect got me twice there. I meant She-doer Sanders.

Agree on Scattebo as well. Granted I really only watched him play twice (B12 championship and the CFP game), but he was a total beast in both games. Plus he's a good pass catcher (45 catches for 605 yds last year). Not sure how good he is at pass blocking, but based on how tough he is to tackle I'm guessing he's pretty good at it.

With that being said though there looks to be plenty of good RBs we could take later on as well and we really need LB, DT, and OG. So IMO we'll be better off going w/ one of those positions in the 4th and taking a RB later on (depending on who's still available when we draft of course).

So a better pass catcher and route runner than JT. As far as his pass blocking, if he doesn't whiff then he's instantly better than JT at that.

Looking at the "Best Available" here's who sticking out to me (in order that they're listed):

Joshua Farmer DT FSU
Cam Skattebo RB ASU
Ty Robinson DT NEB
Miles Frazier OG LSU
Danny Stutsman LB OK
Cody Simon LB Ohio St
JJ Pegues DT Miss
Damien Martinez RB Mia
Smael Mondon Jr. LB UGA
Deone Walker DT UK

I'm also seeing Marcus Mbow OG from Purdue, but it's hard for me to believe that anyone on Purdue's 2024 roster is capable of playing in the NFL.

I wouldn’t mind if they took him. Will never happen though.

HoosierinFL 04-26-2025 10:48 AM

Ty Robinson DT NEB
Cody Simon LB Ohio St

Pulling from the above list, it will be one of these guys because its clear Ballard is going for the all big 10 draft

On that end I wouldn't mind taking a flier on Indiana's CJ West in round 6 though he may not be a good fit for Anarumo

Skatteboo gone to the Gnats. Omaha gonna be happy!

I'm back to Will Howard but maybe we can wait until the 5th round?

I would be okay in the sixth round.

We traded back. Any word on compensation?

The Colts picked up an extra 6th Round Pick (Pick 190) for moving back 10 spots from 117 to 127.

Gonna get the same player...so good move.

Colts select an Offensive Lineman: Iowa State tackle Jalen Travis.

So far, as a casual fan, I am not overly impressed with our draft so far....

Not a lot of great players in this year's draft. But I like our first 2 picks.

I'm with you. Warren is a home run, but most of our other picks have been pretty much meh with the only other immediate need filled being RB2/3. Huge fail on Ballard's part to not have upgraded an of LB, DT depth, and possibly OG by now.

Spike 04-26-2025 03:19 PM

Running back DJ Giddens looks like a pretty good pick in the 5th round.

From Walter Football:

Giddens was a tough runner for the Wildcats in 2024. He averaged 6.6 yards per carry for 1,343 yards with seven touchdowns. Giddens also caught 21 passes for 258 yards with a touchdown. Team sources say that Giddens could sneak into the second day of the draft, and he looks like a quality mid-round pick.

I don't hate scattebo as a player. just hate him for the colts. only due to how colts fans are.

Yep. Hopefully there's some decent DTs still available, or at least better than Taven Bryan (which shouldn't be hard to find).

Hopefully we can bring in a decent off ball LB as well. Ballard is putting way too much faith in Carlies IMO.

Racehorse 04-26-2025 06:35 PM

I’m shocked that we didn’t pick a linebacker. I guess we will be signing a few of them as UDFAs.

ukcolt 04-26-2025 06:39 PM

This years draft class has me a little underwhelmed overall, i am excited with the Warren, Travis and Giddens picks, I am ok with the Tuimoloau selection but not thrilled, the rest I am really not sure about.
CB Walley i don't see where he fits into the rotation, especially if Brents is able to stay healthy. He might be the primary backup slot corner. But is he going to be active on game day? Ward and Jones are likely to be the starters outside, Moore in the slot, then Brents and Womack are going to battle with Walley.

Riley, just seems a complete waste of a pick to me. I don't see him ever being an NFL calibre passer.

Tim Smith will hopefully fill in as the backup NT, but I am not so sure he is ready for this role this year and i was hoping for an earlier selection at this position.

Wohler at safety i don't think he will see any game time, could he be converted to LB? As a 7th round pick not expecting too much from any player this late in the draft.

The LB class was really weak. Campbell might become an excellent player, Jalon Walker is considered by many to be more of an edge rusher than a linebacker. After that Schwesinger could also be a good prospect who could become a pro bowler, but after that i don't think that there was much talent at all.

Can't stand the Riley pick. Can't stand even listening to Ballard anymore. He moves down in the draft and then picks that guy, SMDH!
