Lots of good DBs available. 4 I wouldn't mind at 117:

Jaden Hicks
Cam Hart
Khyree Jackson
Dadrion Taylor-Demerson

YDFL Commish 04-27-2024 10:19 AM

Remaining players I like. DB's I didn't care for in the 2nd or 3rd but would take a flyer on them in the 4th.
DB's
Cam Hart
TJ Tampa
Khyree Jackson
Jaden Hicks

RB
Ray Davis- Dude reminds me so much of Zach Moss

Later rounds:
LB
Kalen DeLoach- Undersiszed, but fast and fun to watch

IndyNorm 04-27-2024 10:52 AM

Jackson looks like he really fits the Bradley DB mold.

Annual cut to commercial on colts pick

TheMugwump 04-27-2024 12:59 PM

A center? Is Kelly talking about retiring?

CletusPyle 04-27-2024 01:04 PM

I would not be surprised if the entire 5th round picks for the Colts are DBs/S

YDFL Commish 04-27-2024 01:05 PM

kray007 getting his wish with OL picks.

Thorgrim 04-27-2024 01:11 PM

I'm glad we aren't stretching to get a good corner. All this talk about needing to improve the secondary like they struggled last year. What a bunch of malarkey. Taking a corner in one of the top 3 rounds would have been sheer insanity when we have a desperate need for OL depth. Our entire offensive line is returning and you never know when one of them might retire. Better to plan on that possibility when there is no immediate need at corner. Ballard is too sharp to be tricked into signing a solid talent in free agency when he could roll the dice on a mid-late round talent. Bravo for the gutsy move Chris. If it should work out, which I'm sure it will, it will prove there is no room for a top 10 corner on this team. Better get back to the draft. Round 5 is coming up and there should be some solid punters and kickers still available.

There were rumors. This guys is a good pick. Can play backup for a few years. Super athletic.

I've heard that Kelly wants a new contract?

I'm sure I'm wrong, but this almost has the taste of sarcasm.

Probably not though.

There were rumors he was considering. Haven’t heard new contract. He’ll be 31 next year when his contract is up.

Yeah one more season.

ChaosTheory 04-27-2024 01:29 PM

I heard Bortolini broke the record for three cone drill by an IOL.

Previously held by Jason Kelce. Really athletic.

Really good on both OL picks.

Kelly has made some comments in the last few weeks that he'd like to continue playing with the Colts after this current contract.

From April 16:

Colts are back onsite for offseason workouts this week. First player to speak to reporters is C Ryan Kelly.

Of note: He confirms he would like to sign another contract beyond his current one, which expires after the coming season.

Sounds like he's in for the long term.

YDFL Commish 04-27-2024 01:34 PM

FUCK! Ray Davis is gone.

Based on who we just drafted I'd be surprised if we re-sign Kelly. Same w/ Fries.

Not to mention the fact that our current DBs who are any good never, ever get hurt.

One of the biggest winners of our draft so far, if not the biggest, is Darrell Baker Jr.

I’m not as down as most on the db’s. Sure, they could use some but it’s not a dire emergency. Dallis Flowers was having a hell of a year before he got hurt and they really like Brents. Plus, Kenny is still there.

I just get the feeling they really like the guys they have.

Agreed. The proof is in the pudding. And opposing quarterbacks liked the flavor.

DBs would be even better if we could apply more pressure on the opposing QBs, even the best corners in the league can't guard guys when the QB has all day in the pocket!

Chromeburn 04-27-2024 02:09 PM

Goddamn chargers 2 picks

I still think we add a couple vets. Just waiting to see how the draft goes.

Chromeburn 04-27-2024 02:12 PM

Two of the players I liked for the colts just went right before our pick.

Right there with ya Norm! Cry Superman and the entire defensive backfield would come running. All joking aside, it would be best if our corners and safeties would spend some mandatory time on IR. Perhaps a minimum of 4 weeks each season. Coming back after an injury is the best way to sharpen one's skills. Plus, injuries build character, the more severe the better. Case in point...."Glass Joe" Jefferson. I'll never forget the look on Steve McNair's face when Joe was prowling the secondary.

HoosierinFL 04-27-2024 02:17 PM

Anthony Gould seems a strange choice at this point. Maybe a special teams/returner type?

CletusPyle 04-27-2024 02:19 PM

DBs? We don't need no stinkin' DBs!:D

nate505 04-27-2024 02:19 PM

Another receiver.

Interesting. I've never cared all that much about picks past the 4th round in terms of positional need, but you'd think a DB or two would be needed.

Why certainly. Best not be hasty in a cornerback rich draft. Round 7 looms large and even then we don't want to discount the diamonds to be found among the UDFAs.

Awfully risky. Kenny's obviously great and dependable. Flowers was good last year but is coming off of an ACL tear. Brents looked good as well when he was healthy, which was only half the season. Jones had some moments but is still raw. After that our depth is horrendous, so if 1 or 2 of those guys get hurt then we're super fucked.

I don't mean to be harsh but thinking like yours is what gets teams into trouble. Never squander draft capital on need. ALWAYS take bpa. I'm really pissed we didnt draft a couple quarterbacks on day two.

He's our number 1 returner now. Can play outside also.

Are there any decent vets still available? Haven't paid much attention to FA lately w/ all of the draft lead up.

CletusPyle 04-27-2024 02:25 PM

These crowd shots are hilarious! Fans on cue assume their role....just now Browns fan starts barking like a dog!:D

We drafted corners last year. Catch up.
