This may be a little unfair to Hines since he is injured and won't play this season, but with each game, this trade becomes more and more lopsided.

Since last year's trade with Buffalo:

Zach Moss: 124 att, 575 yds, 4.6 yds per att, 2 Rushing TD's, 10 rec, 54 rec yds, 1 rec TD

Nyheim Hines: 6 att, -3 yds, -0.5 yds per att, 0 Rushing TD's, 5 rec, 53 rec yds, 1 rec TD

The Colts also received a 5th Round Draft Pick which they used to select TE Will Mallory.

We lost the turnover battle vs. JAX, 3-2. Now back-to-back weeks we've won 1-0 and 2-0.

Last year, our D was playing just as well, but our O was fucking them with short fields after turnovers.

If this was last year and Kyle Hamilton got a free run at Matt Ryan three times... Ryan would've fumbled three times and the Ravens would've scored 34 points on us.

This is why I don't think this team is as bad as the prognosticators think (many power rankings had us around 29-30 in week 1) - not that what they think matters, they are all idiots after all.
But still, cleaning house with those dumb offense coaches/schemes, eliminating turnovers and getting competent QB play fixes the majority of this team's problems last year.

Even local media doesn’t get this team. I had colts winning in sodas picks then changed it last second, should have stick with my gut.

More performers on D

Juju Brents - 87.6
Grover Stewart - 85.5
Tony Brown - 78.3
DeForest Buckner - 74.9
Samson Ebukam - 74.1

Colts also tied for second in sacks with 12

Was they any discussion on why Mckenzie didn't catch a few of those punts? It seems like he was in position to catch just about everyone but then decided to let some of them bounce.

The last one might have gotten a flag if he needed to run into the defender to field it.

Also, why did the Ravens fair catch the KO after the safety? They could have ran it down to the 2 min warning and then down to under 40 seconds (if they didn't have the penalty.

ChaosTheory 09-25-2023 03:35 PM

Grover is criminally underrated.

According to Holder, at least with respect to the one that was downed at the 2 yard line, McKenzie was concerned about the awkward trajectory of the ball and he was concerned he might drop it:

According to Pro Football Focus grades this year, the Colts have the number 1 (Quenton Nelson) and number 11 (Will Fries) highest graded pass blocking guards among starters (minimum 185 snaps).

Bernhard Raimann is also the 5th highest graded OT in pass blocking

https://x.com/ZachHicks2/status/1706...168933428?s=20

5th rated OT in pass blocking, a 3rd round pick.

I know that several of you thought the Colts defense should have had even better numbers vs the Texans due to their make-shift offensive line (4 starters were out). Those same four OL starters were out again this week against Jacksonville and take a look at the two defenses vs the Texans back-ups.

Colts Defense - Week 2:

6 sacks, 9 QB hits, 10 TFL

Jaguars Defense - Week 3:

0 sacks, 4 QB hits, 5 TFL

Saw a replay of both the strip from behind and the decleater again today- this dude is going to make shit happen. He looks just as big as Hamilton but playing CB vs Safety. Gonna be so much fun watching him develop.

Receiver stats. AP's Adot is huge. Gotta think that will pay off later in the season as AR gets more comfortable.

Good lord. I mean, this is what it feels like watching... but seeing the number compared to everyone else... I wonder if he's officially labeled in the playbook as "decoy receiver" until AR settles in.

Kinda feel for the guy. When you’re told to run a post route every play. Like they don’t have a use for him yet.

This (Nelson) is so good to see. I am so happy to see him getting back to the 19million dollar guard we need out there. I had doubts it would ever happen, good to be wrong so much about this team.

Chromeburn 09-28-2023 11:34 AM

I want to point out Nelson also has a turf toe, which if you’ve had before you know they hurt like hell and makes it difficult to make sharp cuts.

Love all these stats, looks like all the talk of great roster building the last several years is finally translating on the field. Hope Brents can continue to build on those numbers, could be a steal even for a Round 2 pick.

Great find by Ballard in Round 3. Fantastic value pick.

Laremy Tunsil is a big difference maker, (Out Week 2, Played Week 3) but that doesn't fully explain this difference.

Tunsil did NOT play in Week 3.

He returned to practice last week, but was INACTIVE on gameday.

The same make-shift OL started vs the Colts and Jags defenses.

For a second consecutive week, Laremy Tunsil will be inactive for the Texans. Tunsil returned to practice this week and was limited, but did not travel with the team and was ruled out Saturday.

Fair enough, I didn't watch the game, just saw he was likely to play. Puts even better context on the Colts numbers, then.

Some of that is the Jagoffs being the Jagoffs. They usually play well against us, but they shit the bed against bad teams a lot. I mean in the game Sunday they gave up a kickoff return for a TD by a fullback who muffed the catch

Because the jags can’t rush unless they do a stunt and have one of their guys hold the two oline so the other guy can go free.
