Rookie is concussion protocol.

I read that the hit bent his facemask and they had to replace it.

Didn't read that. Damn-Ouch!

omahacolt 09-14-2022 05:58 PM

thats a tough break. have that shitty of a game and get concussed in your first game.

not good

Hoopsdoc 09-14-2022 06:25 PM

Yeah, that’s perfect. He’s probably out this week at least.

Racehorse 09-14-2022 07:15 PM

I don't want to pussify the game, but I always thought that a player who injured another should have to sit a while, if the play was an illegal play. Not talking about incidental contact, but headhunting, or personal fouls for blind-side hits.

apballin 09-14-2022 08:55 PM

I hope he clears and scores 2 TDs vs the fuckin London jags

The league goes over games and has leveled fines for dirty nonsense. Its not pussifying the game. If the league doesnt reign in the worst of it, it turns into rollerball. Daryl Stingley was the unfortunate victim of the NFL being reactive and not proactive

I think he’ll be mostly on the outside, but if he is, “Boy grow some fuckin’ hands!”

I think we agree on this, but I want the league to do more than fine a player. I want suspensions for dirty plays that injure opponents. Suspensions that actually have teeth.

If they take games, they take money and get fined.I’m not sure anything else will make a dent

AlwaysSunnyinIndy 09-15-2022 04:33 PM

Pierce returned to the practice field today in a red no-contact jersey.

He participated on a limited basis.

rcubed 09-15-2022 05:06 PM

Wont play sunday is my guess.

Hoopsdoc 09-15-2022 07:43 PM

Pittman was limited yesterday and didn’t practice at all today.

It’s gonna be a poop fest if he’s out Sunday.

IndyNorm 09-15-2022 10:32 PM

Anyone banged up at all should sit this week out, since we're going to lose @ the Jagoffs like we always do under Frank no matter who plays.

That guy was the victim of numerous cheap shots last season, not sure if he is a trash talker or what, but defenses love to hit him cheap every chance they get!

We damn well should and the rubbish Norm is spouting is just beyond tolerance.

I cannot find it in me to expect a win down there. Not after we could t beat Houston. I hope you are right, and you very well may be. New QB and all. Fourth quarter was good so maybe. I just feel like Charley Brown believing Lucy wont pull the ball again. Until the Colts actually win A) early in the season and B) in Jacksonville I wont believe they are capable of doing it. I will continue to have zero faith in this team until they actually produce on the field. I do keep rooting and hoping. I’m just sick of this crap year after year.

The Colts have shown a tendency to play down to their competition. I hope they come out swinging, on boty sides of the ball

Just heard this, and presently trying to find a specialist in healing after a kick to the nads...

Jax is 5-30, yep, 5-30 in their last 35 games.
3 of the 5 wins are against the Colts

Tellin' ya, he loses this game, don't even let him catch a ride on the bus to the airport, tell him to get an Uber and foot his own ticket back home.

And yet they don't practice today... been a long season, legs needed a little extra rest...oh wait, this is game 2 and essentially NONE of these dudes' played in the PS.

F Frank Reich!

Oldcolt 09-16-2022 01:26 PM

I’ve done my typical bullshit thing as a fan of the Colts, I am off the cliff and now think we are going to win in Jacksonville. Once again I am set up to be pissed when (and if) we lose but what the hell. First there is Ryan. He has never lost to Jacksonville, he did throw for 350 yards last Sunday, most after making adjustments in the fourth quarter. Couldn’t do that last year. People say he has the team relaxed more than last year, a good thing. I read the article in the Star about Stachan and am pumped that maybe this guy can be special by the end of the year. I am thinking that our line will improve when Raiman takes over LT sometime in the last part of the year. We ran the ball great, passing takes more time to figure out timing etc. The defense was ok last week and hopefully we have a decent kicking experience this game. We beat Jacksonville Sunday.

I think the Colts pull out a win, but Lawrence will have 300 yards against our defense, especially if the crew on Sunday sees pass interference the same as last weeks crew!

I think we pull out a win although it will be closer than it should be.

caveat: no pittman and buckner could throw that into peril.

That is dreadful. Believable, but dreadful. Reich won't be fired if/when we lose. End of season, maybe.

My post about sitting everyone was a tongue in cheek joke. Sorry you didn't pick up on that.

Although as OldColt pointed out as well, until one of Frank's teams proves otherwise it's pretty safe to assume that we'll lose at the Jagoffs.

Oldcolt 09-16-2022 05:39 PM

Even though I think we win I’ll believe it when I actually see it.

Here's another fun fact on our ineptitude at the Jagoffs

The hit in Houston that knocked rookie Colts receiver Alec Pierce out of this week’s game in Jacksonville has drawn the NFL’s attention.

Rookie Texans safety Jalen Pitre has been fined $9,045 for the hit on Pierce, a hit that was flagged for unnecessary roughness.

Pitre was fined for a helmet-to-helmet hit so hard that it bent Pierce’s face mask.

“I had to get my face mask changed,” Pierce said in the locker room after Sunday’s game.
