Predicting Big Q's contract

My hunch is this: 5 yrs. 93 million w/50 million guaranteed.

JAFF 08-11-2022 03:19 PM

More than I have made in my lifetime. Not a complaint. They should pay the Marines like they pay the NFL

Dam8610 08-11-2022 06:00 PM

6/114 75 of guarantees

I can see that, or maybe more.

I would be okay with the 19 million per but not the 66% guaranteed money. If that is a 6 year extension, meaning he plays under his current contract this year, I do not see that happening. That would put him into his age 33 year.

I’ll go 5/125

Way too high. Current highest OG AAV is $16 million or so. He's not getting $9 million per year more than the next highest paid OG.

More guaranteed money has been getting paid out lately, especially to players that teams think are important enough to lock up long term. My guess is if they did something like this, all the guarantees will be paid by Year 4. To your last point, 33 is not terribly old for a OL, especially not one that plays at as high of a level as Nelson.

Won't hazard a guess, but pretty sure he won't be making a car payment.

He’s gonna shatter any guard contract ever, he’ll get something close to Trent Williams money

Damn haven't been in here in a while. BZY BZY. but I come into this thread liking what Dam is posting.

Q will get paid A LOT and he deserves it.

IF NOT. no one will ever want to sign with the Colts. Because if the best lineman in football cant get paid. No one will

PAY THE MAN!!!!

I think the $18-$19m a year is the right number. Minimum of 4 years, maximum of 6 years.

I hate how much guaranteed money is getting paid on NFL contracts now. Completely will hamstring teams who bet wrong....much like the old rookie contracts for top ten picks that paid out tens of millions for guys who had never played a down in the NFL.

However much guaranteed money, I also agree that it will all be paid out by the end of year four.

I predict the guaranteed money will be paid in the first 2 years.

If you work 40 years, you have to average $25,000 per year to make a million. If you mean few people even keep a million, that's a different thing and I agree.

There's no way that will even be possible. Over 50% of the contract will be guaranteed and they're not going to frontload it that much.
