Blackmon injured Achilles at practice?

He’s on the injury report now with the Achilles and some ominous tweets.

Fuck

God dammit.

Bet the over

Read that it's a tear from Wednesday.

I remember injury-riddled seasons (2010 jumps to mind). This season, so far, seems up there with them. In particular, the (lower) leg injuries.

Maybe it's recency bias, but this season is striking.

apballin 10-21-2021 10:15 AM

That fuckin sucks, any free agents out there?

Brutal loss for the Colts: S Julian Blackmon tore his Achilles in practice yesterday.

Will be done for the year.

I did the math last night:

Julian Blackmon had played 97.2 percent of the defensive snaps at free safety since taking over for Malik Hooker last season.

There's not an obvious replacement right now.

The Colts had been working out DB's the last few weeks.

They signed S Josh Jones (along with CB Darqueze Dennard) earlier this week to the practice squad.

AlwaysSunnyinIndy 10-21-2021 10:38 AM

One other option is to sign a safety off another team's practice squad.

Both Shawn Davis and Sean Davis went through the Colts offseason program and camp. Shawn is currently on Green Bay's practice squad and Sean is on the Cheat's practice squad.

Cursed.
How long is a typical Hard Knocks season? I've never watched it, but it's looking like I'm going to have to turn my HBO subscription back on so I can watch this train wreck. One month should cover it? Two months? The NFL knew what was coming. They picked the Colts for a reason.

Hoopsdoc 10-21-2021 05:46 PM

This season is cursed. Cursed, I tell you.

I’m still expecting Wentz and/or Leonard to miss time because they’re unvaccinated. Probably the Titans game.

You just know that’s coming.

No, he's more of Strong Safety type.

Racehorse 10-21-2021 07:24 PM

Didn't we cut a Safety in preseason? Tell? Speed? Someone?

The Colts have been primarily using Tell as a CB although he played Safety in college. He is on the Colts practice squad - more specifically, he is on the practice squad injured list so he is unavailable to help at the moment.

Speed is a LB.

Shawn Davis and Sean Davis that I mentioned earlier were part of the final cuts. They are sitting on other team's practice squads right now and can be signed to the Colts active roster.

Andre Chachere (who had a fairly good camp) was another cut - he was picked up by the Eagles and is still on their active roster.

Damn, it always seems like we're struggling with injuries in recent seasons. Seems like in today's NFL it takes some good positional depth and luck to make a run in the playoffs.

The whole NFL does. As I watch the master chess match between Case Keenum and Teddy Bridgewater. I think the rosters are too small, they need more players to develop and in the wings.

Peppers is no longer available - he ruptured his ACL in his knee and also suffered a high ankle sprain. His season is over.

The Colts added another veteran safety to the practice squad today - they signed S Jahleel Addae who has previously played for the Chargers and Texans.

He’s available because he sucks. Same reason Sendejo was available.

He’s played 2 games without getting hurt, in my Colts book, that alone makes him a star !!!!!

He has been hurt. Sendejo missed the Texans game due to being in the concussion protocol. He received a concussion in the Ravens game.

He has already played 5 games for the Colts - the first game he appeared on the Special Teams unit only and then he has played both defense and ST in the other 4 games.
