Does he deserve to be forgiven?

Discflinger 10-12-2021 06:29 PM

He at least deserves privacy. As long as they were not public statements they should be kept in private. The internet is such a trash heap.

Perhaps, but there is little privacy for public figures, famous people now. Gotta conduct yourself accordingly. How’s a racist, misogynist, homophobe to rant now? I don’t know.

Lov2fish 10-12-2021 06:50 PM

He is an idiot. So glad the Dolts didn't pursue him as a coach. The emails were 11 years old however. Someone looking for 15 minutes of fame and will get it on the back of Chucky. I think he owes all involved an apology, and should have been fired. Let the people he talked about decide if he deserves their forgiveness and not the court of public opinion. I also hope nobody holds against me anything I said 11 years ago. I will be in deep shit if so.

Dam8610 10-12-2021 06:54 PM

Can someone please find a racism Tom Brady and Bill Belicheat did? Apparently that will get you removed from the record books, while cheating will not.

Dungy said everyone should move on and Gruden's apology should be accepted...I guess there are more people that think Tony is full of shit?

And you communicate here with string and a tin can? Its people, and modern communication speeds up their piss poor behavior

I think Dungy is working on the concept of turning the other cheek, and forgivness

Aside from all the other content in the emails (the one about Sam is probably the worst), when you bash the Commissioner of the league you work on in a company email, that'll probably get you fired in most companies.

This could also follow the Colin Kaepernick philosophy that he becomes a bigger distraction than he's worth.

Deserves to be forgiven but had to be fired.

How in the hell is he gonna lead an NFL team with those comments out there?

Impossible. Chucky is finished.

Yes, and he should be allowed back in the league at some point. If a serial rapist like Antonio Brown and domestic abuser like Kareem Hunt are allowed back into the league then someone guilty of offensive emails should be as well.

so whatever. gruden had to go.

don't really care for what he said but also don't like private conversations to be made public. it is what it is though.

I really hated seeing this it’s terrible for everything, the game the teams involved the former players I mean Gruden has impacted a lot of football for the good

And clearly times have changed I mean I grew up playing a football game called smear the ____ hopefully we can all learn from this and I hope the dude gets another chance because I don’t feel like he’s racist he was talking shit with a buddy on work emails 10 years ago I mean cmon

Hoopsdoc 10-13-2021 07:05 PM

He should have used to Joy Reid defense. Worked like a charm for her.
