Nelson, too?

Looks like Big Q is having surgery like Wentz.

You can't make this stuff up: A day after Colts QB Carson Wentz underwent a 4 p.m. foot surgery with Dr. David Porter in Indianapolis, Colts LG Quenton Nelson will undergo the same procedure, with the same doctor at the same exact time.

Nelson had a developmental anomaly, not an old injury

Nelson has a piece of bone loose that has to be excised. Essentially the same timeline. So 5-12 weeks

rcubed 08-03-2021 01:15 PM

so rookie QB and no left side of the O line. shaping up to be an awesome start!

YDFL Commish 08-03-2021 01:27 PM

I so much wanted to see Nelson go up against Aaron Donald.

Hoopsdoc 08-03-2021 01:28 PM

Circling.

The.

Drain.

apballin 08-03-2021 01:46 PM

Hopefully he’s back in 5

Chromeburn 08-03-2021 01:48 PM

So our entire left side will be back ups. With a new 2nd year QB at the helm. :)

CaliColtsFan 08-03-2021 01:54 PM

:(

Brylok 08-03-2021 02:09 PM

Unbelievable. Colts are cursed.

Brylok 08-03-2021 02:09 PM

Has Nelson's foot been injured since high school too? Smh

I forgot the center also. Down to third string.

Oldcolt 08-03-2021 02:35 PM

This is a huge challenge to this team. We need to see it as such. Injuries happen all the time. These are tough ones however. I hope all the negative things that will be written about this team pisses them off. Keep that number one draft choice, improve through the year and find a way to sneak into the playoffs. Then rumble. I'm prepared for an ugly first few weeks. No big deal. I've lived through ugly decades with this team.

JAFF 08-03-2021 02:55 PM

Wow. If there is a a thunderstorm with in 100 mi. this team needs to take shelter

Chromeburn 08-03-2021 03:20 PM

But they could all still potentially start week 1.

Like Dungy always said

“We’re gonna be fine”

Brylok 08-03-2021 04:21 PM

Jim needs to hire a priest or shaman or whatever to go in there and do a cleansing ritual to drive the negative stuff away. Like on the "spirit post" episode of MASH.

ukcolt 08-03-2021 04:45 PM

Assuming Kelly is only out for a couple of weeks, and Pinter is also ok, i guess the opening day lineup is likely to be Tevi, Pinter, Kelly, Glowinski and Smith? Or do we think Chris Reed wins the LG spot? This really is far from ideal, but hopefully Fisher is back after a couple of weeks, and then who knows maybe Nelson is back shortly after that.

We have a a solid group of backups with experience such as Tevi 58/44, Reed 47/23, Hunt 35/11, even Will Holden 13/8. Then there's Danny Pinter who played 13 games last year with 1 start. Do we want any of these guys to be full time starters probably not, but they do have real game time experience as starters, so hopefully we can survive by scheming our playbook to their strengths and try to negate as much as possible their weaknesses.

Real-game-experience + sucks = still sucks.

My money is on Holden at LT. I don’t have much faith in Tevi.

Steven Holder says Tevi is just getting dominated by Paye and Turay. Not a good sign.

i put holden in over tevi. don't care about the lg. arguably the easiest spot on the line to play

Isn't that what ran Houston into the ground?

Butter 08-03-2021 06:25 PM

Well, fuck this season.

Don't mind Holden over Tevi, and i agree that LG is historically the easiest spot on the line to play, but when you have two weak links next to each other, makes things a whole lot harder. Pinter seems to have a chance to be a player though, so who knows.

Well it’s a good sign Paye is having an impact and Turay seems healthy. Lewis apparently looks great too.

Tevi is athletic but he isn’t skilled. Not yet at least.

Nah, they're owner died and his oaf of a son took over and got taken by a con man. Hell with them anyway.

AlwaysSunnyinIndy 08-04-2021 10:03 AM

Based on Big Q's comments - I guess the surgery went OK yesterday.

Still a little stunned Quenton Nelson can actually get hurt on the football field. Of course it's "a developmental anomaly," not from a collision with another player. He's missed one game in six years, dating back to Notre Dame. Gut feeling: he's out there for the opener.

Quenton Nelson on IG: “No time for pity. F— that. Truth is, I’m thankful, thankful the early part of the timetable says 5 weeks. That gives me 5 weeks to do everything I can physically and mentally to be ready to go Week 1 and smash these goals.”

CaliColtsFan 08-04-2021 11:09 AM

We need to fix that pothole in the parking lot!

Maybe its a sprinkler out on the practice field...

Gotta love Nelson and his attitude. Interesting to see how this turns out

Now that’s a team leader, when that’s your best players mentality it sends a message to the entire team
