This is a disaster for the Colts.

They can’t afford for Wentz to miss training camp and preseason with the brutal first part of the schedule and now it’s looking like he’s missing AT LEAST that. Probably more.

This might be the death blow to the season already, 3 days into camp.

No way he'd come back. It would be somebody like Trubisky, Bortles, Fitzpatrick, etc. I'm hoping Wentz isn't as bad off as we think.

I'm not in panic mode yet but this sucks. I've been sort of meh on this Wentz signing from the beginning. Hopefully he isn't out for too long. Maybe Eason or Ehlinger will ball out.

On the bright side we likely won’t have to give up our first round pick.

I'm in the camp of rolling with Eason as well. I mean, who are we going bring in that be that much better anyway. Let's see what the kid can do.

Give Eason a shot but I’m really not optimistic. From the camp reports, sounds like he’s check down Charlie.

Sounds like a young guy who hasnt played much ball due to the pandemic. Has talent, but they were running the new offense for the first time

Yeah the dude just hasn’t got to play especially with the 1’s, he’ll gain confidence and he’s got a cannon I trust Reich to put him in favorable positions and simplify his reads

And I will add on here, the D was getting constant pressure with C and LT both manned by non starters. Pinter looked ok at C bot the free agent from SD was getting whupped by Payne

Wentz getting hurt without contact and without pads doesn’t make me feel confident in him anyway so I’d say the more reps for Eason at this point the better

It could have been worse. Wentz could just suck and still if he played 70% of the season we'd be giving the Eagles our #1 draft choice. Best case, he misses 6 weeks, comes back and kicks ass but only takes 60% of the season.

Count me in the Eason camp at this point. He will need to learn the hard way and play some games to get that live game experience he is still lacking. Can only make him more valauable for being "the man" in the future or increase his trade bait value at some future point.

I guess the good news is that the test results did not indicate that surgery was absolutely necessary. However, if the rest + recovery doesn't work and surgery is required later, it just pushes back the timeline of when Wentz can play this season.
