Marlon Mack
Awesome re-signing at a very reasonable cost. Good move Ballard
|
What are the numbers? I like Mack, seasons for RBs after an Achilles tear are not great though. But he is great in the locker room. And if he can just stay healthy I think he can do a lot of damage.

Amazing contract. If he doesn't get back to near his former self, no big loss. If he does, HUGE implications for the Colts backfield. |

I am good with this at that money.

I freakin love it. Not worried about the injury. That's what they pay the DR's for. If they're good I'm good.
I'm not the biggest Mack fan in the world but DAAAAAMN this backfield it gonna be LEGIT!!! Yea I know it is the same as last yr, but that's before we saw what JT could do! Wentz may not have to throw a pass this yr. HAHA |

Reading somewhere a post I can't find now that Mack is only going to cost us just shy of 800k, due to a veteran contract thing in the CBA. Worst case if he is not ready or just done the Colts are doing him a solid. I like that.
|
Glad to see Colts sign Mack. Team has plenty of cap space and needs to start tapping inti it.
|
I like this for two reasons. First, it brings back a locker room guy at a good price, Second, it sends the message to other Colts players that when Ballard says he would like to bring you back, he is being honest (cough, TY, cough).
|
yeah shows a lot of good will from the colts and specifically ballard. from what I read mack stuck around for rehab and really helped the other RBs off field, in the film room, etc. I wonder how much he was involved in JTs epiphany that propelled him in the second half of the season. gives mack a chance to prove he is back to form and maybe get another contract somewhere while providing big upside to us if he does.

I like this signing for a number of reasons:
A. As stated, great locker room guy and mentor for JT. B. Great price. C. If healthy, I love a 1-2 punch of Taylor and Mack. Ideally, JT gets 20-25 touches a game and Mack gets 10-15 touches with Hines getting the rare carry but used perhaps more in a slot / move role. D. If this pans out, then the pressure off of Wentz could be tremendous! An excellent ground game that can move the chains can take a ton of pressure off a QB to have to be "the guy" instead of just "a guy." Distribute the ball, take a shot down field but not have to worry about a dink and dunk game because the running game has GOT THIS. E. The big uglies get to live their dream. "Run the damn ball!" |
With a reasonably healthy Mack, the Colts may well possess the best 1,2,3 RB punch in the NFL. IMO, it is imperative to get a solid LT and some OL depth so they can take advantage of these guys. To me, the most important position to fill with a stud is LT. Sure, I want an Edge rusher, sure I want a quality WR, but I really feel that with a solid LT, Wentz can make magic with the WR corps we currently have and the running game will be dominant.
|
Every play should start with play action. Why? Because fuck them thats why. The Colts have a rookie LT, it allows him to attack and then pass pro..
Make every opponent to defend the run first, what ever the score is at the time. Ground Chuck offense. |

Still gotta handle that LT position. Remember the effect it had on the line when Castonzo was out. That’s a big hole. It’s looking like that first round pick will have to be LT.

I LOVE 💗 THIS SIGNING!
Marlon was having a great game when he got hurt! I was so sad... Love that he stayed with the team all year and helped our rookie. I sooo hope he comes back the same! |

Yep, grew up in Orange County a Rams fan till that bitch ripped our hearts out and moved our team to St. Louis! I hated Raiders fans, couldn’t cheer for Rams’ division rival 49ers. I tried the Chargers but it was too weird, like kissing your cousin (not that I ever tried that). I was a gal w/o a team for while.... The Rams would play the hopeless Saints 2x a year and my dad loved Archie’s toughness and character. We started following Peyton at Tennessee... I became a Colts fan in 1998! 💙 |
Born in IN. Moved to CA in 2000 and been here since.
