On 4th and 1, James Conner and Ben Roethlisberger collectively made a potential game-saving play ...... the snap was low, but Roethlisberger handled it. When he handed the ball to Conner, he was stopped by the Browns' defense, but then a 2nd-effort just barely got them the 1st down. They scored a touchdown on the next play to cut the deficit to 28-7.

If Roethlisberger had panicked on the bad snap and/or if Connor hadn't gotten the 1st down on the second effort after initially being stopped, the score of the game would probably have been 28-0 at halftime ...... that sequence kept the Steelers' very faint hopes of a comeback alive.

The Browns marched right down the field to answer with a touchdown of their own, increasing their lead back to 28 points at 35-7 ...... the Steelers' flickering hopes of a comeback are now on life-support.

This is some funny shit HAHA

Chromeburn 01-10-2021 10:53 PM

I hope the run it up. Steeler nation way overdue for some payback.

This game is somewhat reminiscent of a wild-card playoff game between the Ravens and the Patriots in 2009. The Ravens went into Massachusetts and blindsided a heavily-favored Patriots team by putting up 24 points in the 1st quarter ...... the Patriots mounted a modest comeback by closing to gap to within 27-14 late in the 3rd quarter, but that early onslaught by the Ravens really had the Patriots on their backs before they knew what hit them.

Do we think Baker can put up 50?

njcoltfan 01-10-2021 11:40 PM

Steelers are going to win this game! I think Eberflus is now calling the defense for the Browns!

Potential big moment in the game that everybody may look back on when it's over ........ the Steelers' decision NOT to go for it on 4th and a long 1 near midfield to start the 4th quarter.

And the Browns immediately answered that decision to punt the ball with a touchdown.

Tomlin will be asked about that later if the Steelers lose this game. In this particular case, I agree with Chris Collinsworth that they should have gone for it ...... I don't think that they could have afforded NOT to go for it.

You only go for it on 4th down with a 1st quarter lead

nate505 01-11-2021 12:22 AM

Tomlin truly is the anti Reich

Spike 01-11-2021 12:24 AM

So close, only 48 points. All around great performance by the Browns.

Brylok 01-11-2021 12:51 AM

The Browns have very good young players and have a lot of heart. Mayfield has matured a lot. They should be a force in the AFC going forward.

Rapeburger is gonna retire. Crying and had that look on his face.

If he does retire, the Steelers will likely be the cellar dwellers in that division for a while. The Ravens are always good and they have Lamar Jackson, the Bengals have a generational talent in Joe Burrow, and the Browns have a great young core. Tomlin might even get fired in the next 3-5 years.

As if we already knew. It’s the same as week four or less. Go Mayfield!

Discflinger 01-11-2021 11:48 PM

No, I am still with the Bills. Loved Allen for a couple years and now that he’s good, I am with him more.

Discflinger 01-11-2021 11:49 PM

Especially that he is lucky.

Discflinger 01-11-2021 11:51 PM

And he can’t get by Darius Leonard.
