This news sounds encouraging:

MPJ is practicing today with no red jersey.

WR Michael Pittman Jr. is practicing, and he’s not wearing a red non-contact jersey.

Indicates he’s in the final step of the concussion protocol

Pittman has cleared concussion protocol.

RB Jonathan Taylor and WR Michael Pittman Jr. are back. Pittman cleared the concussion protocol and will play Sunday vs. the Falcons.

The Colts are ruling OUT RT Braden Smith, LB Segun Olubi and C Jack Anderson for Sunday.

RB Zack Moss (forearm) will be QUESTIONABLE.

Smith is likely to lose his job going forward. That, or he becomes the guy who spells the two on the right side.

Smith may very well be gone sooner than I expected. Freeland is not better than him (yet), but I've been surprised at how well he's done as a rookie. If he stays on that trajectory, it looks like Ballard could eat $6m to save $28m over the final two years on Smith's deal.

Especially if injuries persist.

Where'd the shoulder come from? I read he started having symptoms after they landed.

The Colts listed the shoulder injury along with the concussion on the injury report starting with the first day of actual practice (Thursday). The comments on the injury report from Wednesday were just estimations because it was only a walkthrough. I don't think many teams spend too much time/effort on the walkthrough / estimation injury reports. Once Pittman initially cleared the concussion protocol, they still listed him as Questionable with the shoulder injury.

But yes, the reason why he is now being ruled out for tomorrow's game is because concussion symptoms re-appeared.

In addition to his 5 catches for 46 yards, Pittman made a CRUCIAL play of falling on a Jonathan Taylor fumble when the Colts were deep in Raiders territory in the 2nd quarter.

(3:13 - 3rd) (Shotgun) J.Taylor right tackle to LV 20 for no gain (M.Crosby.) FUMBLES (M.Crosby), touched at LV 20, recovered by IND-M.Pittman at LV 19.

I hope they lock him up on the first day it can happen. Yeah, I know they could do it any time, but if they are waiting until the season ends, sign him the Monday that all the bad coaches get fired.

(vs. TEXANS, 1/06)

Pittman finished one hell of a season with another good game in the season-finale ...... his final numbers were 109 REC, 1,152 YD's, 4 TD's, and 10.6 YPC.
