Pretty obvious the Browns were supposed to win this one. Absolutely fucking ricockulous calls at the end of the game.

10 yard completion, TO, 10 yard completion TO, hailmary...or you can run the 2 plays we did. |
Fraidy cat play calling the last 2 drives when we had the lead and the clock. When you play not to lose, you lose! Prevent offense followed by prevent defense.

Although if the Browns would have been 8 at the end instead of 5 then I'm sure the refs would have figured out a way to gift them a TD and 3 point conversion. |
There's plenty of blame to go around for the Colts in this game, but the refs were the ultimate fuckers in this game. By far. That was about as bad as reffing as I've seen since Manning's rookie year against the 49ers.

I'm so furious I can hardly speak. This officiating crew should be drawn
and quartered. I'm so sick and fucking tired of getting boned by these crews week after week. Next home game Irsay should give security the day off and let the zebras try this shit again. Fuck, I am mad. This was theft pure and simple. And fuck the league for their supposed review and grading of officials, its bullshit. |

I'm hoping that this very questionably-refereed loss bands the Colts together, as opposed to demoralizing them ...... they could go on a 5-game winning streak heading into the game against the Bengals on December 10th. o |

It started when they took Kenny Moores int away in the first half.
That was a hose job from start to finish. Complete screw job and there’s literally nothing anyone can do about it. |

The Colts got absolutely robbed by referee Shawn Smith and his gang today, with several questionable calls going the Browns’ way, but the worst of all coming in the final drive of the game. The first questionable call came on 3rd and 4 inside the Colts’ red-zone, as linebacker E.J. Speed forced a fumble which Buckner recovered. A play that would have ended the game, but the refs called illegal contact on backup cornerback Darrell Baker Jr. and gave the Browns the ball back plus a first down. That call was not blatant, and I recognize I might be biased on this one because, of course, I am a Colts’ fan, but the worst call came right after that. You can check the play yourself, but it is clear as day, Walker threw an uncatchable ball to wide receiver Donovan Peoples-Jones and the refs called DPI on Darrell Baker Jr., giving the Browns a first down on the one-yard line. It ended up taking them all 4 attempts to make it into the endzone, and the defense was holding their own. Even the announcers said that not even Calvin Johnson is holding onto that ball. I just would like for the referees to have more accountability on their jobs. If I make a mistake as bad as that one on my job I get fired. Simple as that. This was not a whoopsy that could have happened to anyone, this is a terribly bad mistake at the worst possible time. Hopefully the NFL takes further measure and suspends this crew of incompetent so-called referees at least a couple of games, to make sure first of all that they are completely clean, and then if their honesty is out of the question at least make sure their eye-sight is okay. I will go ahead and do the first step for them, the name of the refs are #14 Shawn Smith, #45 line judge Jeff Seeman, #105 back judge Dino Paganelli, #109 field judge Dyrol Prioleau, and side judge #18 Clay Reynard. I am normally pretty mello on this shit as a rule but this time I am livid and beyond livid.... How much were the refs paid off here as I cannot come up with another reason for the blantant bias? |
At the end of the day, the Colts really aren’t going anywhere even if they win today. Not with Minshew starting.
So from a macro view, this was the best result. But Jesus Tap Dancing Christ was that bullshit. Total fucking bullshit. |
Sadly, Hoopsdoc is right, we are not a playoff team with Minshew, so the best outcome is a loss and no major injuries. It sucks having to watch another season of this crap, knowing that your team will be better next season and winning now just lowers your draft order! I'm not rooting for the team to lose, just not getting too upset when they lose!

Colts lost the turnover battle 4-2. Minshew lost 3(!) fumbles. He morphed into Matt Ryan back there. Can’t do that and expect to win. I will take satisfaction in knowing that Cleveland is no good. They’re not going anywhere. They have a decent defense but Watson blows and keeps getting hurt. |

I actually underestimated the Colts' offense. The Colts' defense actually played about as well as I had expected them to, as a good amount of points that the Browns scored were partially due to the offense putting the defense in bad positions with turnovers (including fumbling the ball in their own end-zone, which resulted in a Browns touchdown.) o |

Dam may have been right about trading up for Stroud, kid can play and doesn't seem the least bit injury prone. Between him and Lawrence, even with AR we might only be the 2nd or 3rd best team in the division! |

This year I went in expecting us to be bad, so where we're currently at doesn't really bother me. I am nervous about AR staying healthy though :( |

So much more impressive than what Reich was throwing out there last year. It's like light and day!

He’s had some experience and he’ll have the whole season and offseason to sit in on meetings and learn the playbook. I think he could really take off next year. He just has to figure out how to stay healthy. I could not be more excited about our quarterback. |

Right now, this flat-out robbery by the referees looms as a 4-game swing between the Colts and the Browns. The Browns are currently 7-3 overall, and essentially own a 3-game lead over the Colts, whom are 5-5 ...... the 2 games in which they are mathematically ahead of the Colts, plus an additional game because a tie in the final standings would go to the Browns. If the referees had done their jobs competently, both teams would be 6-4 right now, with the Colts owning the tie-breaker ...... meaning that the Colts would essentially have a 1-game lead on the Browns in a potential season-ending tie between the 2 teams. So instead of +1 in head-on competition with the Browns in the AFC standings, the Colts are -3. o |
Quote:
All of that said, the Colts need to regroup and put that excruciating loss behind them ...... good teams don't use bad calls and/or the robbery of a game as an excuse to collapse ...... they come back strong, and try to right what they consider to be an injustice by winning the remaining games that they have left on their schedule. o |
