NOW the D needs that stop!

So, we need a touchdown, an on-side kick, another touchdown, and then settle for a scoreless 10-minute overtime for a 34-34 tie.

With how our D has played today 10 seconds is too much time.

ChaosTheory 10-06-2024 03:59 PM

These missed tackles on the edge are killing us.

Racehorse 10-06-2024 03:59 PM

Still whiffing on tackles, I see.

Dewey 5 10-06-2024 04:03 PM

Nice comeback attempt I guess.

CletusPyle 10-06-2024 04:03 PM

Swirling winds on the field....won't be an easy FG!

Block

Chip shot

CletusPyle 10-06-2024 04:05 PM

We need a miracle!

Indystu2 10-06-2024 04:05 PM

Because of F'N course we can't make the stop on D.

Dewey 5 10-06-2024 04:06 PM

Relax. We're only in year 8 of Ballard's 20 year rebuilding plan.

Spike 10-06-2024 04:06 PM

This defense is just so sad. Incredible how terrible they have been today. Not sure if it's personnel or coaching or a combination of both. Offense did more than its part today. And of course, the FG kicker doesn't miss against us.

All those years of Josh Scobee beating us.

CletusPyle 10-06-2024 04:08 PM

Looked like a face mask?

Indystu2 10-06-2024 04:09 PM

Disgusting

Thorgrim 10-06-2024 04:09 PM

This d is an absolute disgrace. 500 yds surrendered? Are you kidding me? Let's see if the appropriate parties take accountability rather than blaming it on injuries.

CletusPyle 10-06-2024 04:11 PM

You also have to wonder why the Colts waited until the middle of the 4th quarter to start throwing to Pierce?

nate505 10-06-2024 04:12 PM

Terrible defensive effort and that FG allowed before the half were just a recipe for a loss, sigh.

I'm really starting to wonder about Shane Steichen

Injuries, gotta clean that stuff up, need to watch the film first, etc. etc. etc.

Not even the middle. It was like 4 mins left down by two TDs.

Now HOU just hit a 59 yarder to win. Gross

I think it can be both. Moore and Paye are fairly significant losses, especially Moore. Also, we were playing without three significant offensive starters, although Flacco is honestly just a better QB than Richardson right now, so we've actually upgraded there.

Don't get me wrong, our defense has been a joke most of the year so far, so people need to be held accountable, but can't ignore the injuries either.

The D did what it always does - gift easy completions to struggling QBs. It’s a shit scheme. The injuries may have contributed on the couple long plays. Who would have ever thought that the secondary could use a vet or too? Certainly not Ballard.

The commentators were saying the same thing. That the Jagoffs had given up a lot of long pass plays the first 4 games, so they were surprised it took the Colts so long to go deep.

Coach Stinkin

Thorgrim 10-06-2024 04:35 PM

I'm proud of our guys. They just kept fighting to the end and never gave up. A play here, a play there, and we walk away with a win. Gotta give Jax credit. They're a hell of a team. Don't let their record fool you. A play here, a play there, and they are unbeaten. But yeah, we had a lot of injuries coming in and no excuses, next man up, but that makes it harder. And that's on me, I gotta put these guys in a position to win. Not gonna say much more about that, just gotta go back to the tape and get that stuff cleaned up. But I'm proud of these guys. Just no quit in em'. Offense played well enough to win. Maybe went to the deep pass a little too early in the fourth. Coulda waited a bit longer. But that's on me. Gotta give Joe credit. First start, vet presence, bad wheels, nearly pulled it off. The d played deceptively well. You throw out a half dozen big plays and we walk away with a win. That's not on them. That's on me. Nuff said. Hell of a game. Sad that someone had to lose but that's football. We didn't really lose, we just didn't win. But these guys are all winners. Top to bottom organizationally. No quit from top to bottom. Gotta put this one in the rear view and get ready for Tennessee. Gonna be a tall order, hell of a team, hell of a team.

Saving you the trouble of watching Steichen's post game press conference.

Good teams win these type of games. Injuries, bad luck, none of it matters. Good teams find a way.

Jacksonville is bad. They aren’t going anywhere. If the Colts wanna be good, they need to win these games.

They just can’t do it.

Hell, Green Bay beat us with a quarterback they had for 3 weeks.

Obviously the injuries are a factor, but here's how horrible our D was today:

- The Jagoffs scored 2.5x their average of the first 4 games of the season.
- Lawrence threw for a career high in yards, which was 2x his average in the first 4 games.
- His completion % was 82% today vs. 53% in the first 4 games.
- Our Run D actually held up better than I thought as they rushed for 126 which was right at their average and 5.5 ypc which is .2 less than their average.

I would trade Gus Bradley for Jack DelRio without a second thought.

Holy Mother Theresa in an F-16. If I have to hear one more post-game opposition report including the words "career high" one more damn time I'm gonna shove someone in a wood chipper.

Hoopsdoc 10-06-2024 04:50 PM

I gave the Colts maybe a 10 percent chance of winning this game. So I’m not surprised they lost.

I’m more irritated at the WAY they lost.

Fuck Gus Bradley, Fuck him for fucking breathing! And Fuck Shane Stiechen for not firing him while still on the field!
