I feel very conflicted today. This off-season is going to be something else. I'm fearing the worst, but who knows

Yes, and the Cheaters and Steelers both were eliminated today.

Yes they did. Division title got them a home game.

Winning the division is a realistic team goal. If they win the division, they're in the playoffs. You are insufferable sometimes.

IndyNorm 01-08-2023 05:39 PM

Looks like the Chargers are playing their starters. WTF?

Brylok 01-08-2023 05:45 PM

Cowboys shitting themselves late in the season. LOL

Denver just tied it, 7-7. It's the TV game here in San Diego. Nice to have a rooting interest in the late games. Go Broncos. Go Cardinals. (Cardinals trail, 7-6, early.)

Yeah, I'm not sure why either. I thought it might be because there's a chance they could lose the #5 seed, but since the Ravens lost they should have it locked up.

Maybe they're going to treat it like the old 3rd pre-season game was treated and the starters play a half or whatever, just as a tune up. Though that makes less sense at the end of a season where dudes could rest and heal up.

It's 7-6 49ers.

Corrected it, thanks. Herbert still in for the Chargers. Chargers just punted.

Brylok 01-08-2023 05:55 PM

Well, y'all have a good rest of your day. We're in very murky, dangerous waters, but I'm hoping for better days ahead. I wouldn't wager on it though

Or maybe their dumbass coach doesn't actually know they own the tie breaker over Balt. After what happened to end their season last year I wouldn't be surprised one bit if this is the case.

Yes they did. They were the 3 seed last year, that's why they hosted the AFC Championship against the 4 seed division winning Cheaters.

apballin 01-08-2023 06:34 PM

Every other team in the division has won it 2 times since Colts have

I guess he just ran forward two steps and then jumped by mistiming it, but if he had stayed back, and then jumped, he may have broken up the pass.

So Mike Williams hurt himself in the game.

Pretty stupid to play him Chargers. Pretty stupid.

I see both sides of the argument. But stupid or not, that's the gamble. Hopefully it scares them into playing backups. I missed what they said about Herbert coming back in.

...looks like he's back in. Ok...

Their coach will take some heat for Williams if he misses next week.

He'll get crucified if Herbert gets hurt and misses next week. I just don't see how it's worth it.

Spike 01-08-2023 07:34 PM

Well forget about the number 3 pick, 49ers are destroying the Cards.

Broncos are up by 4 on the Chargers though.

The 4th pick would be nice. That'll guarantee one of the 3 QBs, though part of me wonders if they'll go that route if they only like one of them.

I do wonder what the Colts do if their preferred QB isn't there. I would say OL, but it doesn't seem like the OL talent in this draft is amazing either. Or at least for a #4 pick. Kinda wonder if they take a pass rusher then.

The nice thing about teams like the Cowboys and Patriots is they give me someone to root against in the playoffs. Which isn't as fun as rooting for the Colts, but it's something at least.

I'm hoping for a 49ers/Bills Superbowl this year.

Let's go Donks!

nate505 01-08-2023 07:57 PM

All right, the Donks got an 11 point lead in the 4th. Let's see if the can hold on, and if the Chargers throw in the towel like they should be doing.

Denver trying to piss it away

Spike 01-08-2023 08:29 PM

Broncos win.

Thorgrim 01-08-2023 08:30 PM

I have no idea who I'll be rooting against in the Cowboys at Bucs game next week

Nice! And w/ the Rams losing late we would have ended up w/ the #6 pick if not for blowing the game late today.

WaynesWorld87 01-08-2023 09:00 PM

So we're #4.

Bears - Will Anderson
Texans - Young or Stroud
Cardinals - Myles Murphy or Jalen Carter ??
Colts - Young or Stroud

I'm still not sold on either Stroud or Young being "can't miss" type of QB prospects, but they're both better and provide more promise than anything else we've had in quite some time. I think I'd prefer Stroud over Young, but with it feeling like both have more bust than boom potential, I'm not sure it really matters.

Will be interesting since it appears both will be drafted to the same division which will create even more intrigue with all of this for the next several years.

Actually we'd have the #2 pick at best b/c the Bears would still have had a worse record than us: 3-14 vs. 3-13-1. Not sure if we would have won the tie breaker between us and the Texans.
