Nothing to do with being risk averse. Everything to do with just stacking points and making the game simple. I have no problem with the risk here, this is the Jets. It's just the fucking principle of the matter, there was NO FUCKING reason to do that!

He is seriously just a bad coach.

And you do it and show the league what you might do. I would have gone for that 10 out of 10 times

albany ed 11-04-2021 10:21 PM

Brilliant call on 1st down.

Up three now, or with a FG. A TD extends it to four scores. Plus we pinned them very deep. I have no problem with it.

But if this was a better team that decision would come back to haunt us and we would lose by two.

This...this...this!

Yeah it’s weird - when it works you guys rarely complain. Everyone complained about going for it on 4th last week when it didn’t work. I didn’t hear shit about the two 4th downs that led to the 1st TD. Funny how that shit works.

And I can make an argument that going conservative and trying to milk a lead contributed to the Baltimore loss. (Biggest was the D obviously)

Look back. I clearly said they should have taken the points before the TD earlier (the second or third TD, not the first). Good decisions are good decisions. It's like the NBA coach who yells NO NO NO...NICE SHOT!

Just because it worked out, it doesn't make it a good decision. And this is coming from someone who LOVES Reich as the coach.

Bad plays or execution? Not buying it. Has he made mistakes? YUP.

Play calls or execution decide the game?

Pretty sure it was the late injury to Wentz against the Rams, the lingering effects of that in Tennessee, the street free agent DBs against the Ravens, and the late meltdown of Wentz last week. Don't get me wrong, I think Reich has been overly aggressive this season, but others factors were at play in most of the losses.

Taking the points would've been okay, but the worst case of going for it was backing a young, inexperienced offense with a backup QB against the shadow of its own endzone. Obviously, that worked out pretty well. If this was the Titans, of course you take the points.
