We were planning to trade into that a scrum before Wentz. Looks like that is about the cost we would have had to pay.

"Jimmy is here to stay," Schefter reported his 49ers source saying. "He's our guy this year."

Maybe they keep JG for a year with the new QB learning.

Major shake-up in this year's draft order through two trades:

The 49'ers and Dolphins swapped picks 1.03 and 1.12. The 49'ers will also send the Dolphins first round picks in 2022 and 2023 along with other draft compensation.

The Dolphins then traded back up to 1.06 by swapping picks with the Eagles. The Dolphins will send one of their 2022 first round picks to the Eagles (I haven't seen the conditions on the 2022 first round pick yet). If the Wentz trade condition is met, Philly may end up with 3 first round picks in 2022.

Updated draft order:

1) Jaguars
2) Jets
3) 49ers (from HOU through MIA)
4) Falcons
5) Bengals
6) Dolphins (from PHI)
7) Lions
8) Panthers
9) Broncos
10) Cowboys
11) Giants
12) Eagles (from SF through MIA)

I am trying to figure out what that means for our pick. Does this help us or hurt us?

As others have indicated, I think it greatly increases the likelihood of the 49'ers drafting a QB. I think it also decreases the chances of the Eagles drafting a first round QB. So that is a wash.

However, if the 49'ers would have stayed at 1.12, I think they might have looked at help at CB or potentially an OL.

Assuming that the Eagles stay at 1.12, I think they still need help at WR even though they drafted Reagor last year. They may also be looking for more talent on defense.

I don't see anyone here mentioning that

Raegor looks like a bust. That Florida TE is a possibility if he is still there.

Sorry for not being clear....I was refering to the first part of my comment.

Spike, Dam, and rcubed all mentioned the probability of the 49'ers drafting a QB based on their new draft position.

Looking at what SF had to give up to get to three we were never going to draft our QB. Wentz was a bargain

Seems pretty likely SF drafts a QB with that aggressive of a move, especially with all the other major pieces they already have.
