Great goal line stand.

Awesome.

Bears coaching staff sucks.

A goal-line stand, just like the ones that were led by ones led by l Clint Session l against the Ravens in the 2009 regular season, and against the Saints in the 2009 Super Bowl. )

Fries was literally less than worthless on that play.

Hoopsdoc 09-22-2024 02:23 PM

That was a pathetic pass. Good grief.

Dam8610 09-22-2024 02:23 PM

High again.

TheMugwump 09-22-2024 02:23 PM

That missing high will get fixed. Looks like it's his footwork.

ChaosTheory 09-22-2024 02:23 PM

That right there. Wtf?

I'm sure he did some things similar as Peyton made some REALLY bad decisions early in his rookie year. The light really didn't start going on until week 7 against the 9ers.

nate505 09-22-2024 02:24 PM

That's the horrible part of AR's game he really needs to fix. How is he constantly throwing balls so high? That wasn't even close unless Downs was like 12 feet high.

Spike 09-22-2024 02:24 PM

Damn AR, gotta make those layups

But manning never threw a five yard out to an open receiver all the way to the second row.

IndyNorm 09-22-2024 02:25 PM

Holy fuck AR. That was horrible.

That's why it's concerning. Why haven't they fixed it if it's his footwork? Also, watching that throw on the replay, he pointed his front foot to the right spot (pointing at Downs), he just overthrew it.

Not to the second row. But he missed layups too.

nate505 09-22-2024 02:26 PM

Steichen should take a bit of heat for that play call. He knows he has a QB who is constantly missing, and in that situation you don't want an incomplete pass.

Either run via Taylor or Richardson there.

Hoopsdoc 09-22-2024 02:27 PM

Where are the RPO’s on offense?

It is concerning that it looks like the coaching staff hasn't been working w/ him at all on his fundamentals, or AR just doesn't get it.

The last time that the Colts shut a team out was in 2021, against the Texans.

Hard to work on your throwing when you need to rehab your shoulder.

I would counter with this: He ONLY misses high. He doesn't have a lot of other issues to fix. That is certainly something that they need to work on, and they will, but it's one thing, not ten.

Hoopsdoc 09-22-2024 02:27 PM

Also, Latu is having himself a game.

Sure, but jitters or being amped up is one thing. Seems like 70% of ARs throws are high, even if complete.

His good throws are difficult to catch, his bad throws are to the moon.

Not throwing the towel in on him, but shit.

The shoulder was healed by the beginning of the year. That also doesn't stop him from working on his footwork. Just don't move the shoulder when you complete the footwork part.

TheMugwump 09-22-2024 02:31 PM

Great head's up there by the Colts DB's. Moore catches that and if no one is paying attention, he takes one step into the end zone. They were on him quick.

Spike 09-22-2024 02:31 PM

Damn, better lucky than good sometimes

Again, where is the run heavy offense with occasional deep shots that was so successful last year?

I feel like Steichen is trying to force a square peg into a round hole.

He’s trying to make AR be something that he’s not right now.

It’s actually common for strong arm guys. They will not emphasize fundamentals enough because they can power through the throws even when off base. Bad coaching lets it go. Florida didn’t have a QB coach when he was there. So when he really needs it they need to breakdown bad habits. He just needs to follow through and make sure his front foot is pointing at the receiver. It will take time. Off-season work.

Did FL really not have QB coach, or did they have a really shitty one? Hard to believe that a top flight SEC team (at least historically) wouldn't have a QB coach.

It really needs to be in tandem to develop that muscle memory bc your footwork is different for different distances.

Three things.

1) High misses

2) Bad reads

3) Hero ball

Those are all fixable, but they're also all the issues that caused Carson Wentz to fail.

He could've been working on it since January at least.

They did not have one at the time. It was one of the reasons he decided to leave early. With the practice time limitations in college and lack of coaching. He was just going to receive better coaching and more time in the pros.plus their offense was a bit of a mess.

Dewey 5 09-22-2024 02:45 PM

That shit needs to stop. That is horrible by Richardson.

I’m sure he was at times. But remember he was on a throw count in practices before camp. And even at camp he even sat down a couple days bc his arm needed rest they thought. He didn’t have a offseason he normally would have sans injury on that shoulder.
