He isn't the typical rah, rah, soft ball throwing questioner to guests and is not shy to point out when things are going wrong with the local teams. Too many local sports talk shows, especially in Indy but just in general in most markets, don't take that approach.

He's just an act and it's totally disingenuous. His shtick is to be brash or confrontational, but his show is really a lot of dead air and poorly thought-out arguments. Like when he had Ballard on last year. He just had him on to ambush and troll him, but Ballard was having none of it. Dakich looked like an ass, Ballard came out looking great and clearly not playing into the reaction Dakich wasn't to provoke.
I just think Dakich is lazy and disingenuous on his show. Not to mention hypocritical as hell (the whole I'm-not-in-media-so-I'm-exempt-from-criticism thing while clearly being in media). He resorts to a lot of the "well I coached so I know and you don't" line of thinking, which is irrelevant to almost anything in football, let alone the fact that he coached poorly when he did coach. If he has to deal with even a modicum of challenge, he shouts over someone or disconnects their call.
I honestly can't fathom how anyone could like the guy's show. |
