Kirkland was brutal. Troup was thrown into an unenviable position and that team was fortunate to win 5 games. That 79' squad should have had a better record. Landry did a serviceable if not good job in both 79' and 80' in my opinion. Looked good in the USFL too.

Sometimes being benched is exactly what is necessary to facilitate development. Just let it be known why it's happening and don't prolong it.
