A part of me hopes that Shrader does take his job. It doesn't look like the cap savings would be substantial though.

Not having Gay at pre-injury performance seems low key, but that's a pretty big downgrade.

And if the recovery timing is that long, the Colts should just place him on IR.

Although I guess since it is the beginning of the season with a relatively short injury report, it is the easiest time of year to carry an injured player on the active roster.

The Colts can elevate Shrader 3 times from the practice squad before they need to bring him up to the active roster or run him through waivers to restart that count.

The Colts are listing Matt Gay as QUESTIONABLE for now.

Steichen indicated that he has kicked some on his own, but has not practiced with the team.

If he hasn't practiced, I don't know why they would rush him back to play this week.

They won't. But Steichen is so much the opposite of Reich. Steichen gives no away no competitive advantage info to the media, where as Reich needed to show that he was the smartest guy in the room and explain everything.

I've noticed the same.

It seemed during the offseason and training camp he kind of lightened up but now that the season is picking up I see he is back to being pretty tight lipped.

I like it.

Lammons and Shrader have been elevated.

Glad Ballard went after this kid instead of Sneed.
