He could catch 2 passes for 35 yards, and have 1 of them be a TD.

He could catch 6 passes for 88 yards, and 0 TD's.

I suspect that doing the latter would be just as redemptive as doing the former.

We all know he’s not catching 6 passes let’s be realistic.

If he catches 1 TD pass and doesn’t commit any stupid penalties he’s somewhat forgiven

He could catch a 35-yard pass to setup a TD at the 5-yardline, and it would be equally if not more redeeming than if he catches a 12-yard pass for a TD.

So a TD not necessarily the requisite for redemption ...... that's the point.

He needs to play well, with or without a TD catch.

He’s not forgiven unless he scores to me, he’s not featured enough in the offense to provide anything else.

Downs and Dulin being out are giving him a golden opportunity, however Pierce is returning so his targets are gonna be limited especially playing against a team that struggles to stop the run

He could have zero catches, but run all of his routes precisely as the coaches have required, and carry out all of the blocking assignments well, that's doing his job correctly. He can't dictate how the play calling will go, or how well a defensive back might perform, we might still not throw a ball in his direction, because he is the 2nd or 3rd option, and the other options are already wide open. Or he could become the focal point of the offense and make 6 catches, because the Chargers D decide that they are going to take away Warren etc.

He just needs to do what the coaches ask him to do on a consistent basis. If Treadwell or Gould end up on the field, then we know he isn't doing what they are asking him to do, to the standards needed and he could be cut on Monday.

That's to you.

To his teammates, his coaches, and to Colts fans at-large, he needs to play well ...... if he throws a key block down field to spring a teammate for an additional 20 yards and/or if he makes an excellent catch on a crucial 3rd-down conversion late in the 4th quarter, everybody that is rooting for the Colts will be just as happy as if he catches a 10-yard reception for a TD.

That's the most important thing ...... if he does something extraordinary in addition to playing well, that would be gravy.

More significantly, he needs to play well in almost all of the remaining games of the 2025 season, not just in today's contest vs. the Chargers.

Exactly! Most any NFL player can make a play every game or two. But, can he stack games , where he is consistently making plays, instead of making fuck ups?

Agreed, if by fuck up you mean no stupid mental errors. I don't care if he gets a holding call etc, I want him to be aggressive and if he is those things will happen. As long as it isn't mentally stupid I'm good.
