Let Bridgewater compete with Brisket for the starting job.

Our base DL looking like this would be pretty stunning:

DE - Houston
DT - Kinlaw
DT - Harris
DE - Sheard

Turay isn't any slouch, either.

Yeah, except...... Luck probably wouldn't be ready for the season. And then he would have been banged and bruised and working from behind on his health.

How close we would have been with a HEALTHY Andrew Luck. He wasn't. He wasn't through rehab.

Let it go.

We can likely get Sheard for < $7M a year (wrong side of 30 now), he's a veteran presence and get 5 sacks a year. If Harris and Kinlaw are disruptive in the middle he will have more opportunities.

I wouldn't mind him back since he is pretty key to the run defense. Unless they find a guy who can rush and play the run. But when he is not in there the DE's we have were not able top stand up to the run all game long. That would create a chain reaction letting OL into our LB's. Leonard is then not as effective. So yeah, unless they find an upgrade I'm for re-signing him.

The Colts also had an injured kicker that bailed them out of one game (against the Broncos), but may have cost them several others.

If Vinatieri were healthy, the Andrew Luckless Colts might have gone 8-8 or 9-7.

Hey, they beat the Chiefs on their home-field in Kansas City with Jacoby Brissett at QB ........ granted that that was only one game, but I suspect that they were not nearly as bad as they sometimes looked later in the season, particularly against the Saints.

So as disappointing as it was to see the 2019 Colts go from a playoff contender with a 5-2 overall record to a mediocre 7-9 also-ran, I suspect that Chris Ballard's assertion that he was building a team that was not overly-dependent on one player (such as Peyton Manning and Andrew Luck) was not just lip service ........ for a fairly recent reference, the 2011 Peyton Manningless Colts were considerably worse than were the 2019 Andrew Luckless Colts.

Moron, the post was not about Luck so much as it was to say that our roster is close to where we all want it to be. Add in a QB that is not Brissett, and we make a deep run last season. That is the point.

Let it go (fuck) yourself

Put me on the HELL NO to Bridgewater train.

So now it your turn, concentrate and see if you can guess what I’m thinking now.

I may be in a huge minority here but I’m good with this. Spend the picks on building the rest of the team. Rivers may get us deep into the playoffs which would be fun. Or he may fail miserably and give us another high draft pick next yr

Will he be Kerry Collins or a Matt Hasselbeck? Or a Peyton to Denver guy?

Build the defense
