The Colts also had an injured kicker that bailed them out of one game (against the Broncos), but may have cost them several others.
If Vinatieri were healthy, the Andrew Luckless Colts might have gone 8-8 or 9-7.

Hey, they beat the Chiefs on their home-field in Kansas City with Jacoby Brissett at QB ........ granted that that was only one game, but I suspect that they were not nearly as bad as they sometimes looked later in the season, particularly against the Saints.
So as disappointing as it was to see the 2019 Colts go from a playoff contender with a 5-2 overall record to a mediocre 7-9 also-ran, I suspect that Chris Ballard's assertion that he was building a team that was not overly-dependent on one player (such as Peyton Manning and Andrew Luck) was not just lip service ........ for a fairly recent reference, the 2011 Peyton Manningless Colts were considerably worse than were the 2019 Andrew Luckless Colts.
