This back-and-forth with the INT's by both teams to stop respective scoring drives reminds me of Larry Holmes and Ken Norton slugging it out for 15 rounds, in June of 1978.

That cut----- holy shit that was crazy!

TheMugwump 09-22-2024 02:00 PM

Great footwork there by JT.

Dam8610 09-22-2024 02:00 PM

Td jt!

WaynesWorld87 09-22-2024 02:00 PM

JT is still so fucking special.

Good bounce back drive by the offense.

AR is younger and less experienced than any of them by this time in his career. He'll be fine.

Peyton was pretty bad. Remember all the ppl predicting he was a bust?

Spike 09-22-2024 02:01 PM

JT with the TD! Yeah, JT running the ball is a good idea.

Dam8610 09-22-2024 02:02 PM

3 play 1 minute drive still concerning. TOP isn't as bad this game but still bad.

For sure. That's why I say I'm not there yet. Josh Allen specifically had issues until year three.

I don't know if we could have outbid Carolina (or would've done it) but I will always give you credit for recognizing Stroud was worth the price. AR is probably 2nd best but that isn't saying much at the moment!

It's bad enough that this sounds like a home game for the Bears ...... so the least the Colts can do is send those fuckers home to Illinois with a loss, and spare the Colts fans that are at the game the embarrassment and humiliation of seeing smug Bears fans celebrate in their stadium.

Chromeburn 09-22-2024 02:02 PM

That’s how you alleviate the pressure on a young QB. Do t make him think it’s all on him, that he has to do everything. He will relax

I'll admit I was very young in 98, did Peyton ever throw an INT into triple coverage when he had a wide open TD next to it as a rookie?

Absolutely could've, would've is a skill issue.

Can we at least give the guy a year before writing him off?

He made horrible decisions that first year. Double coverage triple coverage, didn’t care. Really in his first three he had a lot of int’s. He just threw out of it. He would say the only way out of a slump is to ride it out and keep slinging it.

You dumbass, the Bears traded to the top spot because they wanted Williams. They weren’t going to trade back and miss their guy after they gave all that up to get up there.

It’s so fucking stupid that you keep saying this shit. It makes you look retarded.

I get that you wanted Stroud and you want to blame Ballard for not getting him. But no GM in NFL history could have pulled that off. Vince Fucking Lombardi couldn’t have done that.

I hope you're right. The question is how long of a leash will they give him to do that? Bryce got 18 games.

We're more thank halfway through the 2nd quarter, and the Bears have 0 points on the scoreboard ...... the Colts' defense is finding a way to get it done so far, however haphazardly.

Bears traded back to 9 with the Panthers. Colts had #4.

AR has already been significantly better than Young.

nate505 09-22-2024 02:08 PM

An enjoyable TY Hilton sighting.

Josh had a lot of the SAME issues until year three. Plus he only had 25 college starts, so it took a while to get there.

Sounds like our guy, but AR had even less college experience.

nate505 09-22-2024 02:09 PM

Jaylon Jones has been a force out there

Maybe.

He absolutely did it as a veteran.

You're the idiot. The Bears didn't trade to #1 last year, they got the #1 pick because they traded with Carolina in the 2023 draft. The Colts could've made a similar trade and gotten CJ Stroud, they had a more valuable asset in the 2023 draft in the #4 pick vs. Carolina's #9 pick. If Ballard really wanted #1, he could've swung the deal. It likely would've cost Pittman, but oh well, you don't worry about things like that when trading for a franchise QB.

Gil Brant and Bill Parcells said you need 24 games to evaluate a QB. I don’t know how long you give him. But I think two seasons for such a young raw guy is fair. If he shows improvement then keep playing him. Allen took theee season but you saw flashes.you commit to him, follow through.

I do know teams that have no patience and cycle through QB then coach then front office over and over are on a repetitive cycle of losing.

nate505 09-22-2024 02:13 PM

Make a fucking tackle, for chrissakes.

Colts And Orioles 09-22-2024 02:15 PM

o

Peyton Manning and Dan Marino may be the only QB's ever who could throw into triple-coverage and still thread the needle in between those 3 defenders to complete the pass.

o

TheMugwump 09-22-2024 02:17 PM

I'm starting to wonder about the Colts strength and conditioning coach. Both lines have spent the season being pushed backwards.

Do they not have a squat rack in the facility?

I'm not advocating to be like the Panthers or Jets, but I want to see improvement from AR. It seems like he's regressed thus far this season. Every throw is high, and he makes bad reads.

ChoppedWood 09-22-2024 02:19 PM

Great defensive stand- albeit aided by Matt Steichen going option at the goal line for no good reason!

TheMugwump 09-22-2024 02:19 PM

Nice stand, D. Who saw THAT coming after last week?

WaynesWorld87 09-22-2024 02:20 PM

What a fucking goal line stand!

Dumbass play call by the Bears on 4th down, but our defense was stout as fuck on 1st-3rd downs.

Dam8610 09-22-2024 02:20 PM

Great stop by the D.
