Nelson Agholor got the same contract as Yannick Ngakoue. Read the previous sentence again.

Wow, Ngakoue off the board for only 2/$26. Colts could've beaten that easily.

I have read that his run defense is pedestrian, which is counter to what we need. facing Henry twice a season.

Yeah, Turay and Banogu, two guys that put fear into every offensive lineman !

He gets to the QB. The Colts need that. Average run defense is fine when you get to the QB.

Thanks for the laugh, but in all seriousness, Ballard talks about wanting 9 DL for rotation. I count 7 at most currently, with only Buckner as a true standout:

DT = Buckner, Stewart, Stallworth, Windsor
DE = Turay, Banogu, Lewis

An impact player at DE is needed, and the only available route for that now is the draft. Hopefully they sign Trent Williams, so they can risk not picking a LT at 21.

And New England strikes again: The Patriots are signing former Chargers' TE Hunter Henry to a three-year, $37.5 million deal, including $25 million guaranteed, per source.

Free agency's top two tight ends, Henry and Jonnu Smith, wind up in New England.

Digging themselves a hole. And as of now, they have no decent quarterback to get those TE the ball.

They have Cam Newton. Were it 2015, they'd be Super Bowl favorites.

Chromeburn 03-16-2021 12:35 PM

Good pass rushers are hard to get. You have to overpay for them. See what happens when things slow down.

BB has to go after receivers, he can't draft one worth a shit. Cam Newton will hold the Pats back though.

I'm still interested in what Shaquem Griffin could do in our defense. He's undersized but a high motor kind of guy. He could be an interesting tweener between safety and LB. He's an RFA for Seattle now.

Not a guy I want starting as one of our two outside receivers but a pretty valuable 4th/5th guy.

Pittman and ?? starting on the outside.
Campbell as the slot receiver / move guy.
Pascal, Patmon and DeMichael Harris as the 4/5/6 guys.

If Campbell cannot get it done due to health this season, then work the heck out of Harris and see what you got.

I really don't hate that group of kids.

Exactly.

So maybe they are the ones taking Mac Jones in the first round, since they are in desperate need of a QB. Some of the mocks already had the doing this. Not sure they'll have enough money left to sign their rookies though...

I'm told Jacoby Brissett got $5m guaranteed and a max value of $7.5m on his 1-year deal with the Dolphins.

He'll probably backup Tua to start, but has a good opportunity to see the field this year

Would have loved to have Lawson. You are right, have to spend that money somewhere. He's young and disruptive at a great position of need. Losing Autry hurt, but since CB didn't have to pay him, should have signed Lawson. Having said that, CB knows a hell of a lot more than I do unlike Grigson.

As good as he is, I am glad we did not pay that.

Already paying Kelly. Will be paying Smith and Nelson in the next year and two.

Need to draft LT and have a low cost succession plan for Glowinski so that O-Line does not eat up all our cap space.
