Baker Mayfield
I was a loud proponent for him but no one else seemed to want that move

If he's still with us by then. I saw that he was just re-activated to the practice squad from the PS IL this week, so I presume he's now eligible to be signed by other teams off the PS. Would make a lot of sense for a team like Carolina or the Tits to pick him up. Of course it would make a lot of sense for us to call him up to replace Ehlinger, but we all know that's not going to happen .

Couldn't other teams just sign him off the street, which would not mean they have to put him on the active roster?

This whole thread is 18 months premature.

AR will be back.

Hopefully with the timing and footwork issues fixed. He was starting to get close, which makes this decision perplexing unless it's an order from on high (Irsay).

I like Mayfield and always have. But, he's just a stronger armed Minshew. Poor pocket awareness and a gunslinger mentality.

Sure. It's better for us that he's on the PS than not at all. The point I was trying to make is that he's right there for the taking, and it wouldn't be surprising at all if another team in QB hell (Panthers, Tits, etc.) plucks him off of our PS. To prevent this from happening I'd like to see him activated up to our 53 man roster, which would likely mean we'd part ways w/ Ehlinger.

TBH I'm not sure if players on the practice squad injured list can be signed by other teams. Guessing that they are, but I doubt any teams would actually do that.
