We had a name for a guy like him back in the day.

Well they better have some form of fucking black opps transfusion program where a bunch of ME is replaced with WE because all I see out of this fucking punk is ME. Right now, this guy looks like a guy that EVERYONE was passing on because he DESERVED to be passed on. Then along comes flat bill jack ass and the rest is history...

For all I know, this guy might wind up in the Hall-of-Fame someday and be mentioned in the same breath as Lance Alworth, Steve Largent, Jerry Rice, Terrell Owens, and Marvin Harrison ...... but I don't think that calling attention to yourself in such a brazen, challenging manner before you've caught a single pass in the NFL is necessarily the most prudent route to take. At least Joe Namath's team made it to the Super Bowl before he guaranteed that they would win it.

How exactly does this call attention to him? The only people who will even know about it are diehard football fans who care enough about him and the draft to know why he chose his number. This is, quite simply, a personal motivator for a player who seems to perform better when he has more motivation to do better. I think it's great and I hope he helps take the Colts to a Super Bowl and then tells the media why he chose his number.

He said that he was "pissed" when he was drafted in the 2nd round last month, and not the first round. And that was made a big deal of in the press. So, choosing number 10 AND telling the press that that is why he chose that number one month later is calling attention to himself ...... at least that's how I view a rookie wide receiver calling attention to oneself.

It will be fine if he has a good season. But if he tears his UCL in the 5th game of the season, his assertion of being pissed and choosing number 10 won't be a flattering look for a rookie wide receiver. Hopefully he will stay healthy, play well, and make it a moot point.

Well, you wanted the spotlight, Mitchell ...... you've got it now.

I am hoping that this is/was a wake-up call for not only Mitchell, but for the team overall.

Adonai Mitchell: l Kid, you're very talented ...... very talented ...... but don't keep fucking around, or you won't last very long around here.

The Team: l We're good ....... we may be VERY good ...... but we're not infallible. This nonsense happened last year with Jonathan Taylor, and this year with Adonai Mitchell. If we let this brainlessness fester within us, we may wind up pissing away an opportunity for our first AFC Championship and a trip to the Super Bowl for the first time since 2009.

Shane Steichen on AD Mitchell’s Playing Time vs. the Chargers

(By Paul Bretl)

https://coltswire.usatoday.com/story...s/86767244007/

***********************************

AD Mitchell will be back in the lineup this week against the LA Chargers.

"I've had multiple conversations with AD over the last couple of weeks, and he's been working hard, progressing in the right direction," Steichen said via Colts.com. "He'll be up this week."

Last Sunday against Arizona, Mitchell was a healthy scratch. The week before, against Las Vegas, he played just six snaps, and that was a product of the Colts pulling many of their starters late in the game.

All of this was a result of Mitchell's touchdown-turned-fumble against the LA Rams.

However, the Colts are currently dealing with several injuries at wide receiver, with both Josh Downs and Ashton Dulin already ruled out for Sunday's game.

“This is a physical game, but a lot of it’s mental, too," Shane Steichen said of Mitchell. "You gotta be mentally strong in certain situations and things are going to come up during the season that sometimes you don't want to happen to you. It happened and it is what it is, but he’s bounced back the right way. He’s been in the right mindset and continues to grow and learn and learn from those mistakes."

Mitchell will presumably be the Colts' third wide receiver, alongside Michael Pittman and Alec Pierce. It's possible Laquon Treadwell could be elevated from the practice squad to bolster the depth of this group as well.

While active, it remains to be seen how many opportunities will come Mitchell's way. This is a game where we could see a heavy dose of two or even three tight end sets from the Colts against the Chargers' defensive front.

What Mitchell brings, however, is an impressive combination of speed and route running, allowing him to make an impact at all levels of the field. Skill set-wise, Mitchell adds a unique skill set to the Colts' offense, but consistency continues to be what he is chasing.

With the Colts traveling to LA, this game will be taking place at SoFi Stadium, the same place where Mitchell's fumble occurred.

Cut the fucking guy some slack. He's on this team and I for one hope that he turns from being an ass to being an asset. This team has sucked for quite a few years and I'm ready for the Colts to become a dynamo like they were in Manning's years. We need all the assets we can muster.

He’s either gonna redeem himself or make it totally worse

So what does he need to to to redeem himself?
