It's "it's". And cussout is not a word.

a pissing contest is much more enjoyable than draft insight

In 2021, MIA trades down from 3rd overall to 12th overall and then back up to 6th overall.

MIA gains:

- 2021 Swap their 4th round pick (#123) for a 5th round pick (#156) from PHI
- 2022 Gains 3rd round pick from SF
- 2023 Gains 1st round pick from SF

In 2018, IND trades down from 3rd overall to 6th overall.

IND gains:

- 2018 Gains 2nd round pick from NYJ
- 2018 Gains 2nd round pick from NYJ
- 2019 Gains 2nd round pick from NYJ

Thank you, Chris Ballard!

Your trade haul was SO much better than Miami's. MIA actually LOSES the trade game this season (moving down in 1st, moving down in 4th into the 5th) to gain only a 3rd next year and a 1st two years from now

The Colts immediate impact of players taken THE SAME SEASON, regardless of player taken, is so much more valuable than a 1st round pick 2 years from now which could be, for all they know, #32 overall.

Everyone is hailing MIA's moves as a guy playing chess while the other 31 teams are play checkers. If that is true, then Ballard is playing 6 dimensional chess.

Speaking of the 49ers. The coach and GM are skipping Justin Fields pro day to go to see Mac Jones at Alabama. Shows just how much Jones has risen this year. He could go third overall. He is probably the best fit for that system.

Make it so, San Fran. Don't want Mac Jones in New England is all.

Rumors New England is trying to trade up.

I hope they do, but all of the QBs at their spot are one handed.

Like to see that everyone is getting on the Mac Jones bandwagon.

Well Brett Kollman has me sold on Teven Jenkins now, I don't know if he can play LT, but if he lives up to Kollman's hype, I've love to see him next to Nelson on the left side.

Crud, that is an exciting video for an old offensive lineman to watch!

Thanks for the find. I would love to be able to put an aggressive dude next to Nelson. I loved Castonzo but he was much more of a technician than a mauler.

JMV just said Ballard was at Northwestern, Notre dame, and Alabama pro days

There is no chance the Colts get Slater. That would be a coup. Also confusing because Ballard doesn't like short arms at any position.

Notice he mentions his kick step is a technique favored by Howard Mudd. Chris Strausser will definitely take notice of that. Safe to say Jenkins is on the Colts board.

Greg Newsome. I think he is one of the CBs we like for our first.

Evan Sidery @esidery

#Colts have virtually met with Oklahoma State OT Tevin Jenkins multiple times throughout the pre-draft process, per source. Indy also was in attendance for Jenkins’ Pro Day.

Keep an eye on Jenkins being one of their top targets at No. 21 to potentially

Well the concerns with Jenkins were athleticism and arm length, and he blew those out of the water with 36 reps of 225, a 4.9 40, and 33 1/2" arms (81" wingspan). That combined with his tape...he has to be in the mix for OT2 now, and he's certainly not as locked in to RT as I initially thought.

Yeah he had a great pro day as Dam just said. His RAS came out to 9.75. Only Cosmi has a better RAS. I would also keep an eye on that northern Iowa tackle as a later round pick, he tested out really high too. Jenkins measurables combined with technique and nastiness, gotta think he is a potential pick at 21.

apballin 04-02-2021 04:16 PM

When asked what type of player teams were gonna get

Jenkins said “A tough, physical, nasty motherfucker”

Concerns about arm length? They were short but have grown in the last 3 months? Are there pictures during the season that his hands only reaching his belt line, and now they reach his knees?

I want to know how many times he beat the piss out of someone. If it was during a game, that would be a plus.

There were concerns that his arms were under 33". The problem with that is that there are no starting OTs with arms shorter than that. Anamolies happen, but they're anamolies for a reason.

YDFL Commish 04-03-2021 07:10 PM

My ranking of the OT's that are likely to be available to us is:

Tevein Jenkins, Liam Echenberg, Samuel Cosmi

My preference would be to get any one of the 3 in a trade back scenario.

I don't see them getting Jenkins AND trading back. That would be a huge win if it happened, though.

So if a guy has 32 1/2 inch ares the colts shouldnt draft him?

Not to play OT if they want the player to be successful.

Also Bryan Bulaga, Jake Long, and Joe Thomas all had arms that were less than 33 in.

Bulaga's arms were 33.25", which is at or above 33". Learn to read.

Thank you, thank you, Mallory of St. Paul, for providing me the opportunity to address the most ridiculous thing I heard or read during the NFL draft. Take it away, Mallory:

I've heard a lot of various experts and analysts project that Green Bay's Bryan Bulaga will struggle to adapt to left tackle in the NFL due to short arms. But, checking combine numbers, his arms (33 1/4") were longer than NFL left tackles Joe Thomas (32 1/2") and Jake Long (32 7/8").

Both of these guys are able to play left tackle effectively in the NFL regardless of their arm length, so why are people making such a big deal about this? Is there really a huge correlation between "arm length" and being effective as a left tackle in the NFL? Is Bulaga being unfairly criticized because he attended the same school and played the same position as notorious NFL bust Robert Gallery (32 1/4" arms)?

People make a big deal out of it because DEs are getting longer and longer. If the DE has longer arms, he can keep the tackle at length and the tackle can’t get in close to block the body. Now is this the defining trait, no. You don’t like to see short arms at either position. Length means you can control the person opposite you better. But as long as the guy doesn’t have t-Rex arms, he should be ok if he is superior in other areas like balance and footwork.

I know. There are some really good football players who didnt check off all the boxes, but were a basic nightmare to their opponents. Anyone remember what Jeff Saturday did to Trevor Pryce in a playoff game?
