Haven't 3 or 4 of the last few pre-season kickers gone on to regular kicking jobs? McManus, Parkey, etc? Being around AV in practice is a worthy internship that some schmoe off the street hasn't had.

They never would have lasted on the PS, you understand other teams can sign them off the PS right?
