If he played for Philly of the Jets they would be burning him in effigy. A little booing is the most he will get.

I'm just shocked, everything was primed for a run. Brisset is not leading us there. We just went to the middle of the pack at best. It will take years to get a rookie into a contender. Just bummed man.

Colts fans and the media are always way too soft on the local teams.

Some of that Philly/NY attitude at times would help us out.

The lack of it is why Grigson lasted so long

GoBigBlue88 08-24-2019 10:45 PM

I've watched Curtis Painter play QB. What is dead may never die.

Oldcolt 08-24-2019 10:45 PM

It didn't feel right that Brissett was not playing tonight. Quite a shock. Whoever said Bert Jones again hit it on the head. Was looking forward to a hall of fame career with both. This one is a huge head scratcher, Joneses wasn't.

It's a shame, mentally weak from the perspective of a football leader. I hate Brady, but in a million years you could never imagine him doing this. Andrew, you were not who we thought you were.

Mr. Session 08-24-2019 10:49 PM

If he’s as smart as everyone says he is, he understands the booing.

Indianapolis sent Manning packing for him and the fan base naturally is deeply hurt. I don’t really think betrayal is an appropriate word but I’m sure there’s a synonym that fits.

I get it too. Football isn’t the type of sport where goofy dudes who congratulate opponents for busting their ass normally succeed. I always thought Luck was a fucking dork but I hoped he was a savant of sorts and it didn’t matter.

Stepping away from the fan perspective though, I hope the best for him. He gave us some good years, made a little bit of money, seems like an okay person.

It’s a tough fucking sport. Just wish you’d said something a little earlier, Andy.

It took a broken bone in his neck while playing for the rams against the chiefs that ended Jones’ career. Never risked another snap but he never mentally checked out. Luck couldn’t carry Jones jock.

I hope there is no knee jerk reaction trade from our GM sacrificing future picks and end up with a "Jay Cutler". Tank the season.

Not only does this hurt the Colts but the NFL as well.

NextManUp 08-24-2019 10:54 PM

In Chad Kelly we trust.

Big Smooth 08-24-2019 10:56 PM

Ballard got fucked by both McDaniels and Luck, but I think he is too smart for that.

Trade for who? Rosen might have been a good get. Who is better than Brisset and out there right now? Eli Manning? Bridgewater?

ChoppedWood 08-24-2019 11:12 PM

I boo'd his ass, boo'd loud and was right friggin' behind him- trust me he could hear it. I called him a coward- I yelled wondering how those guys on the sidelines could stand to even stand next to him.

I took his jersey off and threw it out the window on the way home.

Yeah that's right, i am THAT guy. You know why, because I am a Colts fan and this guy just took a gigantic dump on the team I love, he just crapped down the throats of 52 guys that all have one common goal for February, who go out there every day in 95 degree heat and give their all for that goal, guys that have each other's backs and would potentially die on the field in support of their brothers. And then there is Andy who is "tired".

Fuck you Andy, fuck you hard, and get the fuck off our stadium, get the fuck off our promos, get the fuck out of our city. You aren't even a traitor, you are a quitter- fuck quitters, and fuck you.

I don't think so. We will role with Brissett and see what he has in a better offense with a solid OL.

Better than Brisset- Chad Kelly for one. I fucking hate that he is out the first 2 games. I pray this team, guys like Nelson, guys like Leonard, put either Jacoby or Chad on their back and make it a personal fucking mission to wreck this league this year!

Oh, he’s a damn good dude.

But fuck him anyway. Asshole move pulling this shit on August 24th. His freakin ankle didn’t hurt in minicamp? He damn well should expect boos.

Oh and we could have signed Foles who won a superbowl with our coach.

No doubt!

Boy does this most recent statement by Frank after last Saturday's game really ring loud. When they asked him how he thought Andrew looked in the pre-game walk through he said he didn't know, he didn't watch it. I think Frank had already said "fuck you Andy" and moved on.

Maniac 08-24-2019 11:24 PM

Honestly I blame Grigson and Pagano the most for not getting a decent offensive line and for running a system with a bunch of long developing plays that was the worst possible choice to run with a crap offensive line.

It is shitty of Luck to retire now though. Do it earlier in the off-season if you're going to, not a couple weeks before the fucking season kicks off.

No shit.....that is what really sucks.

You had foles right there for the taking this past offseason, would have been perfect if Luck has just said something then.

Fuck him. Fuck him hard.

It's not, just initial knee jerk reactions. I was pissed at in game announcement but understand his reasoning.

Yes this is it exactly. Maybe this turns into a blessing in disguise. Ballard is turning this into a Tough team ... maybe we need a tough QB.

Coltsfever 08-24-2019 11:33 PM

This is the worst day!

Indiana V2 08-24-2019 11:34 PM

This team can still win without Luck, this is exactly the kind of team Ballard and Reich are building, a good team overall. Reich was able to win a Super Bowl with Nick Foles remember?

I mean Tua this year wouldn't be a bad consolation prize. Although, I'm not sold on him being an NFL stud and it does have a little bit to do with his size. I know Drew Brees, Russell Wilson, and now possibly Kyler Murray are fully debunking the notion that QBs need to be 6'4"+, but I still haven't gotten the same "good vibes" feeling watching Tua play in college as I did watching Kyler Murray.

Trevor Lawrence though? He's the next big thing. Maybe we'll be "just bad enough" this year to get a top 10ish pick, other things will happen, and we'll REALLY suck next year and stumble into Trevor Lawrence next year.

That's the other shitty thing about this, with Luck, this team is legitimate SB caliber- we are stocked with studs all over the field man. So without him, we're probably 8-8 at worst. So what's that get ya besides a # 17 bad ass safety or # 14 crushing DE.... it doesn't get you a Trevor Lawrence that's for sure.

For some reason people just don't seem to grasp how badly this cat stuck one up our ass. I loathe this dude now, cannot stand the thought of his happy go lucky schtick now- fuck you Andy!

Oldcolt 08-24-2019 11:38 PM

Ballard kinda looked pissed when Luck gave him a hug. Hope he is pissed and team is pissed once they get over the shock. Dick move by Luck. Weak to do it at this time, two weeks before season. Team could go either way, hope our leadership works and it makes us harder.

Right?

After last season, I thought Luck + Reich was going to be a coach/QB combo that started wrecking defenses and possibly the NFL for the next 8-10 years. Like they'd be our "Manning + Dungy".

It was finally all set up. Luck came back after missing an entire season and still looked like a top 5 QB. Reich seemed to be the real deal; like he has the potential to be a truly elite NFL head coach.

Hopefully Reich's potential is legit, and he really is an elite head coach, and we have him for the next decade. It's been proven in the NFL that you can win at a higih level with an great to elite head coach, a good to great defense, a good offensive line, and a slightly above average QB. Having an elite QB isn't a must, but you do need the cards to align just right to possibly win a Super Bowl even if all the aforementioned things are in place.

Luck4Reich 08-24-2019 11:41 PM

Luck is a Pussy.

WaynesWorld87 08-24-2019 11:43 PM

Where does this rank among shocking, no one saw that coming, retirements?

In my lifetime, the only two that I can think of where an athlete of this caliber shocked the sports world by announcing their retirement are Magic Johnson's first retirement and Michael Jordan's first retirement.

In his press conference he said the boos "hurt". Are you fucking kidding me? What the fuck do you think all those dudes that are in that locker room, those dudes that are out there every day of camp busting it while you cry about your ouchies, all these fans that wear your jersey with pride, how in the fuck do you think those people feel???
