He could catch 2 passes for 35 yards, and have 1 of them be a TD. He could catch 6 passes for 88 yards, and 0 TD's. I suspect that doing the latter would be just as redemptive as doing the former. o |

If he catches 1 TD pass and doesn’t commit any stupid penalties he’s somewhat forgiven |

He could catch a 35-yard pass to setup a TD at the 5-yardline, and it would be equally if not more redeeming than if he catches a 12-yard pass for a TD. So a TD not necessarily the requisite for redemption ...... that's the point. He needs to play well, with or without a TD catch. o |

Downs and Dulin being out are giving him a golden opportunity, however Pierce is returning so his targets are gonna be limited especially playing against a team that struggles to stop the run |
He could have zero catches, but run all of his routes precisely as the coaches have required, and carry out all of the blocking assignments well, that's doing his job correctly. He can't dictate how the play calling will go, or how well a defensive back might perform, we might still not throw a ball in his direction, because he is the 2nd or 3rd option, and the other options are already wide open. Or he could become the focal point of the offense and make 6 catches, because the Chargers D decide that they are going to take away Warren etc.
He just needs to do what the coaches ask him to do on a consistent basis. If Treadwell or Gould end up on the field, then we know he isn't doing what they are asking him to do, to the standards needed and he could be cut on Monday. |

That's to you. To his teammates, his coaches, and to Colts fans at-large, he needs to play well ...... if he throws a key block down field to spring a teammate for an additional 20 yards and/or if he makes an excellent catch on a crucial 3rd-down conversion late in the 4th quarter, everybody that is rooting for the Colts will be just as happy as if he catches a 10-yard reception for a TD. o |

That's the most important thing ...... if he does something extraordinary in addition to playing well, that would be gravy. More significantly, he needs to play well in almost all of the remaining games of the 2025 season, not just in today's contest vs. the Chargers. o |

That may be correct ...... but doing something extraordinary does not necessarily require scoring a TD, as you originally proposed. And as I stated, there are numerous scenarios in which he can do something extraordinary without necessarily scoring a TD. o |
No Downs or Dulin today. If Mitchell is going to redeem himself, now's the time.
Narrator: he didn't redeem himself |
The Bolts are wearing the dumbest uniform ever

They will lose because of it!

Gould saw a lot more snaps than Mitchell, although Mitchell did make one very nice hands catch.

Shane is holding AD in his pocket for when we really need it. You'll see.

Ironically, going from one of the best teams in the NFL to one of the worst could be a new lease on life for Adonai Mitchell ...... he will likely get much more playing time with the Jets than he would have gotten had he stayed with the Colts. A new team, same old Mitchell. He had multiple drops last night for the Jets, including one where he beat the Patriots best corner deep, Fields threw a perfect ball that hit him right in the hands, and he flat out dropped it.
That’s classic AD Mitchell. I’m convinced the guy will never be good at football. He’s the new TJ Green. |

Mitchell also displayed the return of his alligator arms syndrome last night. Wide open and he didn't even have to layout for the ball, but pull hios arms in early once again.
Let's face it, this dude may run fast and run great routes, but he just simply is not a football player. I am so glad that he's gone. |

I read that thinking, no, he did the exact same stuff here. That’s just who he is. |

Mitchell is showing a similar parallel career path to Kadarius Toney. The only difference is that he may have an even shorter career.

FS Antonio Bethea SS Bob Sanders With Freeney and Mathis at DE Gary Bracket at MLB Those were some years that I was excied about the defensive possibilities of a Colts defense. However, since then? Yeah, our secondary should be fun to watch. |

Sanders didn't play enough but when he did he really elevated everything to the point you may be correct I stand by being more excited about this group because having two shut down corners in this pass happy league is such a unicorn |

Whenever l hear or read about Rick Volk, it always reminds me of reading about him in regard to Super Bowl III, in which he was knocked unconscious twice. It was in an auto-biography of Joe Namath. One of those times was when the Colts recovered a successful onside kick late in the 4th quarter. I couldn't believe it when I saw 4 of his teammtes literally carrying him off the field, each one with a limb ...... today if a player is knocked unconscious, you have a stoppage in play for about 5 minutes, a whole slew of people out there on the field with him (doctors, trainers, head coach, assistant coaches, etc) ...... back then, players were more concerned about getting their unconscious teammate off of the field as soon as possible, as though their biggest concern was avoiding getting a delay-of-game penalty. Fast-forward to the 1:55:12 mark to see Volk literally getting dragged off of the field by 4 of his teammates. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RW5GnZCxqIw o |
Mitchell had 8 catches for 102 yards and a touchdown yesterday.
Because of course he’d go to the Jets and immediately become a star. |
You usually have to wait a few years to see which team did the best in a trade, but the early reports favor the Jets.

To me the problem is the offense not the defense. I think DJ hurt his leg in the Chiefs game and the offense has sputtered ever since.
