I ponder just how much the leg injury impacted his performance on Sunday. On his one meaningful carry, he kind of trotted over towards the sideline and went out of bounds after he picked up the first down.

A healthy Jones has always been a weapon with his legs, and I wonder what could have been had they been able to roll the pocket to the right and give Jones the option of running. With 8 guys stacked in the box, KC’s defense might have been vulnerable, especially if one of their cover guys had abandoned his man in order to cut Jones off at the pass.

If Jones had a worse game against the Steelers 4 weeks ago than he did against the Chiefs 2 days ago and people are saying that he had his worse game of the season against the Chiefs, then it is recency bias. That is the precise context of my statement.

Regarding Jones being the real deal, I believe that he is as good as his QB rating says that he is (7th in the NFL), and I believe that he will remain in that area for the rest of this season......and if the Colts maintain the excellent offensive line and overall solid team around him, I believe that he will continue to flourish with the team in 2026 and beyond, in a similar fashion as Jim Plunkett did with the Raiders in the 2nd half of his career from 1980 onward.

Jones also had ZERO turnovers in this game, which was the biggest fear of many Colts fans entering the game ...... in my rat's ass of an opinion, Jones is the real deal.

All QB's get a lucky bounce or two every game. A dropped pick etc. etc.

I am not on the Jones train, but right now he is not our biggest concern. Getting to the QB, better play calling against the blitz and a LB who can fucking cover a tight end. Fuck Franklin drives me insane....

At this point in his career , I would highly doubt that Zaire Franklin can run a 5.0 yd 40.

Jones is downplaying the injury ...... but players in all sports almost always do that, and if they play badly they claim that the injury was more of a factor than they had admitted to.
