I have a feeling it will be Jones. Hope I’m wrong.

it's not an easy choice, but it is the safest choice, for Steichen and Ballard....start Daniel Jones.

I'm not sure YPA tells about a guy's arm strength or deep accuracy. You throw a RB a 2-yard swing pass and he takes it 70 yards for a TD, your YPA is going to be high. Not to mention we're talking about two drives in a preseason game.

I didn't make it up. Giants reporters always said it, at least after the neck injury. Our reporters have said it all camp.

I do agree he's the safer bet and I think we can win with him. I'm not saying he's Gardner Minshew, but Minshew was also the safer bet with less traits. Minshew hit some long balls for us, but we were pulling our hair out not being able loosen defenses up more by pushing downfield.

I actually preferred Minshew over Jones. Jones seems a little more of a boring guy with no real potential to do anything to rally a team around him.

Jones played both games with the one's and two's, AR with the scrubs. That leads me to believe that Jones will be the starter. Steichen is not an NFL head coach.

So tiebreaker is the fact that AR is 23yo and still growing, ceiling is sky high, the running dynamic which is not on display in preseason, and the fact that he's had a good overall camp specifically without turnovers.

Side notes..

-Warren looks good

-OL + JT + Giddens should be nasty

-OL needs to shore up pass pro inside: Goncalves mauls in the run, needs head out of ass on pass rush stunts.

-AD Mitchell will kill me... The PIs after burning guys is great... Drive killers due to JV level retarded shit will keep his ass standing next to Wayne.

-Woods is a tough break. Numbers game may get him cut, but he's got talent to be scary. He scored that TD, too.

-Grim Reaper is sniping our guys the past couple of weeks. Fuck.

Pretty much agree with everything you said here. Would like to add the following:

- Neither Jones or AR have stood out. Although obviously tough to tell with the limited time each have had with most of their reps being w/ backups. Agee with what I've seen that you go w/ AR who has the obvious better upside.

- One thing to remember is that only Jones has played w/ (mostly) our starters in either of the preseason games. IMO he looked ok, nothing great, which is a bit underwhelming considering he was playing against backups.

- Agree w/ Goncalves. He looked Matt Pryor lost on some of the stunts that GB ran.

- Agree on Mitchell as well. Seems like some training camp success has led to his inner douche resurfacing (or maybe it never went away).

- On the other hand Gould looked really good. Guessing he'll get some opportunities come the regular season, so we'll see if he can carry this performance fwd.

- I thought Owen looked good as well. Hopefully we sign him to the PS.

- On the defensive side I didn't like seeing us giving up 3rd and longs to their backups. Hopefully it's b/c we're playing vanilla defense, but I have a feeling we're still going to struggle with this .

- Agree w/ Racehorse on Bean. It was only 1 series, but he definitely looked better than Leonard.

Nothing good happens when AD Mitchell plays. the guys is just a problem

Tim Smith looked decent

Worried about the oline. Travis looked a bit better this week. Not that he was good but it sucks to see Freeland get his leg snapped like that. oline depth is very worrisome

just overall, I am not very optimistic the colts will have a good year.

Jones signing was not as intriguing as when they signed Minshew, That is all I am saying. I feel we will be as disappointed in Jones as we were with Minshew. Play AR and be done with it.

Granted, the Packers played no starters. But AR made accurate passes. Jones made more bad passes, IMO. ) His deep ball accuracy stinks.

If that's the case, we can hope that he takes a page out of Jim Plunkett's career resurgence when he was playing for the Raiders in his mid-to-late 30's ....... play within himself, don't throw very many deep bombs, and trust his receivers with soft-and-accurate throws.

I would love to have a QB of Plunkett's caliber, but Jones is not likely to be that guy.
