Why in the fuck is there this belief going around that AR has to be a running back as well as a QB. Initially it was that his legs would compensate for his inexperience as a passer until his passing came around. Absolutely nobody believes that AR is going to be a 30 year old running back/QB. Nobody's body is going to stand up to that kind of beating year after year. Watching AR play for just over 2 games a few things are clear. The man is very very smart-at least in a football sense. He keeps improving in leaps and bounds with his decision making, pocket presence and leadership. It may be worth running the young man in the red zone, OCCASIONALLY, but WTF are we doing it in the middle of the field for? Let him use his crazy athleticism to escape from the pocket and make plays down the field with his cannon of an arm. When you escape the pocket you are running AWAY from defenders, not into the teeth of the defense. Sliding is way more natural and the hits less powerful when you are not running with a 'Earl Campbell' type attitude. It is stupid to take any extra chances, I don't want to see another career ruined by injury (I am still sick about Bert Jones-yeah I'm 70 now. Those of you up there with me will attest that it is incredibly weird being this old-and getting weirder). On top of that once that joint is weakened it is much easier to injure again. Stop trying to make him into a hybrid running back/QB please.

In the running game from AR, all I want to see are the 20 yard (or 50) scrambles and the 3rd and one bootlegs.
No need to call a running play for him. He was running scared Sunday and went down before contact for 2 yards a few times...so just stop calling those plays. |
It is a bit early to be hitting the panic button on AR, calm your tits.

You'll be OK in the long run. You're just going through some stuff. We all have issues ...... the only people who don't are in the morgue. o |
Folks should not freak out. Stafford played like 13 of his first 30 some odd games because of injury, Rogers hurt his shoulder same as AR and couldn't throw for over 10 yard and nobody screwed their shoulder worse than Drew Brees did. All of them had long successful careers. Worst case is that AR has a bad 3rd degree injury and requires surgery and loses the year. He will be back fine next year and have that year of sitting and learning so many wanted. I just think that it isn't worth it having him be our running back. He is to damn talented as a quarterback.

One of the most pleasant seasons the Colts have had in a while and you're upset.
That sucks, even with some things like AR getting hurt I've enjoyed this season probably as much since 2020. |
