Yeah kinda that same thing. Only this time I think Saturday would represent a GM that guys would respect and he could be good with the media end of things.

I'm indifferent with Harbaugh. There's some things that rub me wrong but the guy has proven he can build a winning team with a few different set ups now which is unique.

No matter who we end up I doubt it'll be that bad. It takes a special kind of incompetence to be as bad as those clowns were.

1- Saturday's primary role- report back to Irsay which dudes want to play football and which dudes just care about the cash. Those on the cash end of that report, see ya at the end of the season.

2- Saturday auditioning for Ballard's job. I don't think there's any chance Ballard is back so if Saturday demonstrates he can work the personnel end of this- he moves to GM and Jim goes after some high profile coach and it would not surprise me if Harbaugh's name emerges as a front runner. I think Jim is going to go full in on getting more of an old school, lunch pale persona in place. F-k analytics, f-k gimmicks, tape it up and go out there and play with heart. I think that's what he wants to get back to his team.

I agree with the first part. Irsay wanted someone from the outside who he trusts to deep dive the situation and advise him on how much of the team needs to be blown up with special attention to the OL.

Not so sure on your 2nd point.

I was ambivalent about Saturday's hire but I am beginning to love it. I have changed my mind because of of the good ole boy network having a shit. Most recent example is the fuckface Joe Thomas thinks that hiring Saturday is the most egregious thing he has ever seen in the NFL. His team has a sexual predator under center that they gave millions of guaranteed dollars to-that he appears to be fine with. Irsay listens to his own crazy drummer. It is football for goodness sake, I'll take this ride with him. Could be a disaster but I follow this for entertainment and this (to me anyway) is way more entertaining than the Reich regime was these last few months.

I love this post!

I saw that joe thomas video. Holy shit, most egregious ever!? With all the shit like you mentioned, this is the worst! I am not sure I love the thought of saturday long term, but the rest of the season should be entertaining!

Can one of the greatest offensive lineman in franchise history who is now retired from his days as a blocker somehow transform the worst offensive line in the NFL from horrible to average over the second half of the 2022 schedule ???

Probably not this season, but it would be interesting to see what happens next year should Big Jim Irsay decide to remove the "interim" tag from Saturday's current status.

(vs. RAIDERS, 11/13)

Jeff Saturday is the anti-Jim Caldwell in regard to calling time-outs ...... he is very definitive, non-hesitant, and most importantly good at it on both sides of the ball (offense and defense.)

I just witnessed him do a masterful job of time-management in the final minute of the 1st half ..... he called a time-out IMMEDIATELY when the Raiders were tacked in-bounds when they were inside the Colts' 10-yardline, and he called another timeout IMMEDIATELY after Matt Ryan made a long completion over the middle shortly after that.
