Perhaps the best-case scenario would be if the upcoming game between the Titans and the Steelers is postponed, and made up in later in the season ...... but they have different Bye weeks, so it might be difficult to fit it in. Plus, the Vikings-Texans game also includes 2 teams which have different Bye weeks.

Unless those games are played this week, it may force the league to push the entire season back for one week for everybody ...... unlike baseball, basketball, and hockey, football cannot be played 3 or 4 times in the same week by a team, so the prospect of any team(s) "shutting down" for any period of time is more alarming/distressing.

From what I have been reading we might face another surge. Think it’s happening in other parts of the world. Might spread to here.

In professional sports, they essentially "bubble" teams' players and coaches, and have access to constant testing (not available to the majority of other American citizens.)

I'm not necessarily saying that it will all work out well for the NFL this season, but they do have an advantage over the majority of other factions/blocs/groups in society in terms of controlling and minimizing the spread of the disease.

True, but I feel the NFL is the hardest to do this with because teams still have to travel and the sheer amount of people involved and that they interact with. Its easier with sports that have fewer players.

Agreed.

As I stated in a previous post, football is unique in that you can only play it one time per week ...... there are no doubleheaders, no playing 3 or 4 times a week, etc.

In fact, even before this whole COVID crisis, college football teams in recent years have often had a hard time making up games when there were torrential storms/hurricanes. Sometimes they would substitute a game with a I-AA team in place of the canceled game, and sometimes they would just cancel it altogether and finish the season with 11 regular-season games (as opposed to 12.)

They probably should have worked in another bye week in the season. Hard to do, but it could have been used as a makeup week. So many logistics involved.
