Do you realize what a strict schedule these coaches have in order to prepare for the next game? Steichen should not have wasted 1 moment longer than necessary to inform Richardson of his status.

To do anything else would have made things worse by not coaching the other 53 guys and catering to the insecurities of the QB. That's why Steichen and Ballard waited until Friday. Because, by then, the hay was in the barn as for preparing for the Vikings.

I agree with you though about Steichen saying he doesn't have a pulse on the attitude of the team. If so, that would be impeachable. But, of course he was lying to spare Richardson some dignity.

Unless there's some bad behind the scenes stuff, I'm blaming this on the organization.

Everyone and their mother knew that this could be a rough season for him, but it was critical he gets his reps in. Yet they bailed on this plan really quickly.

So yesterday apparently there was a fan with an "Andrew Luck got hurt snowboarding" line on the morning show with Bowen and Sweeny but they decided not to air it because it wasn't vetted. They even talked about the thoughts about whether or not it should be shared due to sounding credible, but that's where it stopped.

What will really really really suck is if we find out this dude has not been the guy they've claimed he is to us so fervently. There were so many comments from the staff about his leadership, constantly in the play book, pestering them with questions. They are the ones that chose to put the C on his uniform. All of that makes it so difficult to see how this would just be performance related vs not performing AND not being the professional leader the team needs.

If we find out that's some concocted BS and AR isn't who they have been selling us on, and THAT is why he has been shelved, oh man, if that's the case, every fucking public facing role in the org should be replaced- and THAT, that would touch Jim because that charade would be him just trying to keep butts in seats despite KNOWING we were headed toward suckville!

I don't know the answer to this, but how many teams that choose pre-season captains leave their starting QB out? I would think almost none.

I think part could just be the weight of the position. By definition, the guy you roll with at QB needs to be a leader and a captain, so teammates probably default to that vote anyway. Even if it's not full-hearted.

Again, this is just going with the premise that any of this is true.

Man....this team needs win against the Vikings Sunday Night, if they get smoked, next week is going to be a bad soap opera!
