With 7 seconds to play and 2 timeouts, there was time enough to run 1 more play to try to get a few more yards ...... either a quick slant-pattern over the middle and immediately slide down, or Minshew could have lined up directly behind the center and QB-sneaked the ball for 2 or 3 yards.

And if they had done that, not only could they have gotten Gay a few yards closer for his FG attempt, but it would have left the Patriots' offense no time on the clock had he missed.


In my rat's ass of an opinion, that was a minor mismanagement of the clock to not run one more play ...... and yes, I was thinking that BEFORE Minshew attempted the 57-yard field goal.

I want to see Minshew keep it on a RO at least once early. Even if he only gets 4 yards before he slides, they'd at least have to respect it instead of crashing down.
