I was tempted to do a film room on the new Colts FB Roosevelt Nix, and as I sifted through the coaches film from last season, I decided not to.
Had I posted it on Youtube, it would have been more of a torching than a highlight film.

All I can figure is maybe, just maybe the Colts think RB coach Tom Rathman can bring back that 2017 pro bowl form. But yeah, as of last season, he was awful.

In the 3 attacked vids, 1 is special teams kick coverage where he plainly blocks in the back, blasting the other player's blind-sidedly to the ground.

The 2nd he completely misses a block where he had 2 to choose from, and instead of going left or right, he goes up the middle as though he was running the football, instead of blocking for it.

And the 3rd he is stonewalled at the line of scrimmage so badly by the linebacker, he is stopped right in the running lane and actually tackles the player he supposed to be blocking for.

Sorry, I can't seem to get my gif's to upload as gif's..seems to turn them into jpeg's..I can put links to my tweets about the plays however:

Good, then he'll be cut. Fullbacks are unnecessary in today's NFL.

I can't for the life of me figure out why they signed him, but I at least hope that if he's that bad, the coaches will see it and he won't make the final 53.

Ballard, Reich, and Rathman may think they can coax that 2017 pro bowl season out of Nix. That's my only conclusion.

Maybe Tom Simpson will come back now that we have a full back again.

He won’t make the team

Didn't he only play in 3 games?

1 year contract. Perhaps Omaha is right and we wont make the team.

A bit more optimistically, he offers

1. Special teams depth
2. options in the running game
3. DE depth

I can imagine a power run to the right. Nelson stunts to the right, nix follws up and Mack follows Nix. Its an obvious run formation that lends itself to play action also.
