Just curious: If Brady opts to find another team, what would you think of him coming to Indy on a 2 year contract? I just thought it would be fun to read all the comments on this.

I want to do it just to see the collective heads of the pats fanbase explode when he goes to the hated Colts.

But won't happen. Tommy doesn't like us especially after our GM exposed his deflate infatuation.

For troll purposes I think it would be epic. then we draft a QB high and Tommy sits on the bench the whole time.

Hell no on Brady. What's he going to be, 60? I've spent so much time hating on him and the Pats, I don't ever want to see him in a Colts uniform. I have the same opinion on that punk ass Rivers. Two old washed up QB's that I never liked, nah, fuck that.

You should see some of the in-fighting on their forums about him, and how the season ended. Some think he should retire now and yet others say the team should keep him until his arm falls off and he decides to retire

Sounds familiar. They turn real quick in the fanbase. A couple years ago he looked average and everyone wanted to dump him. That fanbase won’t handle losing well.

Have to agree... can't stand Gaydy and the cheating organization he represents. Betcha Kraft renews his deal with the devil to keep him and BellyLick in hopes he can keep basking in the glow of past seasons. Fark em all and hope they become the conference doormats for years to come.

I'll answer the thread title (Opinion on Brady), without answering the OP ........ Tom Brady is/was and excellent quarterback who was overrated because of his 9 Super Bowl appearances and 6 Super Bowl titles. He IS NOT the greatest quarterback of all-time, as he is often referred to and labeled as. He IS one tough son-of-a-bitch who is/was not afraid to dive head-first over his offensive line if he thought that the team needed that one yard badly enough. The only tougher quarterback that I have seen play in the last 20-25 years was Ben Roethlisberger, who would probably play from a wheelchair if he thought that it gave his team a better chance to win.

o

Yes.

o

What makes him tough?

o

Aside from my rat's ass of an opinion and my citation of him diving head first over his offensive line (and into the defensive line of the opponent) on numerous occasions to gain a crucial yard and/or a touchdown, Justin Tuck and Michael Strahan said that they repeatedly beat the hell out of him in Super Bowl XLII and that he never had the look in his eye of "I don't want to be here" ........ they said that they had seen that from other quarterbacks which they had battered. They each said that the "tough" label for Brady is warranted.

To each their own, and perhaps so. I just would not watch Tom Brady run this team, nor would I watch a team run by a GM that would sign Tom Brady.

In the unlikely event that Tom signed with us, and the further unlikely event that Tom won a super bowl with us could you imagine how obnoxious the Patriots fans would be? I want no part of that.

I know someone who used to play on the pats. Apparently during the Atlanta SB I think, he got hit so hard they knocked his intestines out of his diaphragm. He had them pushed back in and went back into the game. You make to the league, you’re not soft.

I'm a fan of the Colts, not a single player. If Brady is here and 100% ready and capable of winning games, I'm ok with it. Not liking the Colts any longer because of one player?! There have been more than a few players who weren't helping the team win and yet you didn't leave then. You'll stick around through Samson Satele and Mike McGlynn...Gilbert Gardner--but you jump off the ledge over a starting quarterback? Why not abandon ship when Vinatieri came here?

Because a kicker can't cheat. Tommy Cheater was directly involved in the cheating, and apparently even did some that Belicheat and Kraft didn't know about. It's not "one player", it is the human manifestation of everything wrong with the NFL. That's why I would lose interest as a fan if the Colts signed Tommy Cheater. I wouldn't even leave over Rivers, and I hate that guy.

Setting aside the gut-level disgust that overtakes me when I think of Brady in a Colts uniform, I just can't see a realistic scenario where this takes place.

From the Colts perspective, why would they put themselves in a position to allow another member of the Patriots organization to embarrass them again? What if Brady pulled some sort of McDaniel's-like move on them? I don't think Colts fans would be as sympathetic this time.

Also, why bring in an expensive 43-year old QB at this point when we already have Brissett under contract for $15 million or so, and we are likely going to be drafting a young QB to compete? It doesn't make sense. And, even if the Colts somehow decided to go the veteran QB route, I'd think that someone like Rivers would be a more likely target due to his ties with our current coaches.

From Brady's perspective, the Colts are the organization that directly called him out for his cheating and led to one of the most embarrassing moments of his career. I'm sure he's got lots of hard feelings about that.

Hell no on Brady. Even when you set aside that he's a Cheat and a fucking asshole and try to look objectively, he showed this season that he's washed up and needs the team to carry him.

If we go with the almost retired QB route I'd much rather have us go with Rivers who's 4 years younger and has more left in the tank.

I think most of those who say it would work are doing the Madden thing where chemistry doesn't matter, just take a player and plug him in. So they see Brady trying to win another SB, and look for a good team with a glaring hole at QB, and the see the Colts. They see this team as only a QB away from being a SB caliber team, and one with a good line and think Brady would want to leave NE, where he is not going to win another one, and see Indy as a team that would fit his criteria. They are wrong because we don't cheat, and we don't like the guy.

It wouldn't be the end of the world. But it's not gonna happen. It's a high risk with someone that age in a high profile position. It could be that age sets in which probably happened with AV.

Free agency and trades don't work well with QBs especially if they have been under a system for so long. Peyton Manning wasn't the reason why the Broncos won the Super Bowl.

Taking a chance on a 40+ year old QB is a high risk.

It would be interesting to see how good Brady really is outside of NE.

He will retire as a Pat. They will get a friendly hometown discount.

Are there any teams a QB away from winning a Super Bowl?

My opinion on Tom Brady ........

Last week when the Buccaneers came from behind to defeat the Chargers, Brady was all smiles and shaking hands with Justin Herbert and the other Chargers players after the game ...... last night after the Buccaneers lost to the Bears, Brady immediately trotted off the field very quickly without shaking hands with (or at least verbally congratulating) Nick Foles and the other opposing Bears players.

It's easy to be graceful and sportsmanlike when things are going your way ...... one's true character shows when things don't go your way. I think that we saw that with Cam Newton and his "Superman" poses when his Carolina Panthers were winning, and his hostile spurning of the press when they lost the Super Bowl to the Broncos.

Brady is 43 years-old, so if he's still a dick, he probably always will be. Perhaps the 31 year-old Newton can learn from his mistakes, and change the perception that some have of him before his career is all said and done.

The phony did it again.

After his team lost to the Rams on national TV, Brady walked straight to the locker room after the game without meeting Jared Goff (or any Rams players) in the middle of the field.

I've never been a Brady fan, but I watched him carve up the Colts too many times to think of him as anything but a great QB. I'd be disappointed if he were to get to another SB, especially since I think BB was more responsible for the Pats dominance than Brady. I see Brady as the perfect QB for BB. He had him from the start, molded him to his way of seeing a defense. Brady to his credit, worked hard to be the QB that BB wanted him to be, learned from the master so to speak. I'd like nothing better than to see him fail with the Bucs, and it could still happen. I felt from the beginning that at 43 years old, the second half of the season would start to take a toll on him. You don't recover from the hits as quickly at 43 as you would at 23.

Admittedly, most of my dislike for Brady is because he and his team were the obstacle to Manning achieving much more greatness than he already had. Manning revolutionized the position and was just so much fun to watch. However, his biggest failures came in his biggest games, there's no denying that. I always felt that a combination of Manning and BB would have been unstoppable. I know a lot of you on this board, are filled with hatred for Brady, BB and the Pats in general, but really, that's just wasted emotion. You can be a Colts fan and still appreciate the talent you see from other teams/players.

I don't disagree that a lot of our dislike of Belicheat and Brady come from their success against the Colts. But you fail to mention the fact that all of that success came during the Spygate heydays, which obviously takes our dislike to the next level. If they weren't illegally video taping all of their opponents playcalls then we probably win more than 1 SB during the Manning era, or at the very least they win fewer.

It doesn't help that the league only gave them a slap on wrist when they were caught and did even less when they were caught a second time around.

He's a cheater, he never really "carved up" the Colts, with maybe the exception of 2007, and given Spygate and Deflategate, none of that can be considered legitimate anyway. Brady and Belicheat should be banned from football permanently, and all their records removed from NFL history.
