I'd like to see him come to camp next year and compete for the job.

As I suggested in another thread, he just might ........ perhaps for the Colts, or for another team.

If most (or all) of this true, I would not count out the possibility of Vinatieri kicking in the NFL next season ........ whether it be with the Colts, or another team.

The scenario sounds mildly reminiscent to when Andrew Luck talked about how he rushed his rehab before and during the 2017 season, the season of which he missed completely ........ there were major differences between the two situations (such as the fact that Luck was much younger than Vinatieri is now, that he was a QB and Vinatieri is a kicker, and that his injuries were considerably more serious that were Vinatieri's), but the lack of patience with the rehab/recovery process is similar.

It would really, really, REALLY suck if he ended up kicking the game winning FG for another team to eliminate the Colts in the playoffs.

Aye, would suck if any kicker does that, not just Vinatieri. I think the general consensus is that Vinny is done and such a scenario would be incredibly unlikely.

The Patriots are having a lot of kicking problems this season ........ it would really suck if he went back to them and had a good season in 2020, regardless of whether or not they wound up facing the Colts in a playoff game.

Reich says his understanding is that Vinatieri's mindset is that he's not done. ... Says Colts aren't thinking about that situation right now, but Reich admires Vinatieri's desire.

The general consensus is based on his poor performance this year, but if he had a bum knee the whole time, who knows?

Either way, it's time to move on. He's 130 years old

When you're done, you're done. Just like Andrew Luck. I guess he should have quit when Luck did.

Will never forget that game against the Raiders. Vinny set the record and our rookie lb stepped up big with a ff to seal the game. That’s how I will remember Vinatieri. Sure, there was another big game against Oakland, but he set the record wearing the shoe and went out wearing it.

Also, that drive to win that was entirely to Doyle? What a game.
