Good news about Jacoby from Mort and Rapoport. The MRI revealed what they suspected - a MCL strain.

Jacoby Brissett MRI on left knee was as hoped for - MCL strain. Chance to play this week vs Miami but nothing definite, per sources.

Reich says Brissett and the team are feeling optimistic about him playing Sunday. But nothing definite. Wait and see how knee responds over the coming days.

Reich says if Brissett can't go on Sunday, Chad Kelly would be promoted from the practice squad to be the backup.

Another big injury for the Colts: WR Parris Campbell fractured his hand late in yesterday's game, had surgery today, and will be out for several weeks (no IR, yet). Another blow to a WR group that's already without TY Hilton and Devin Funchess at the moment.

What do we have left at the receiver position....Pascal, Rogers, Cain and Dulin? That's not going to scare any defensive co-ordinator, including the Dolphins!

Marcus Johnson is on our practice squad at the moment so could be in line to be called up to the active roster.

At the start of training camp we had Hilton, Funchess, Campbell, then probably Cain, Rogers, Fountain, Pascal, Johnson, Ishmael, Dulin, Hart and most were reasonably happy with the depth.

Cain has done next to nothing, Fountain, Ishmael, Funchess, Hilton and now Campbell have all suffered injuries and are currently unavailable. Add to this that we could be having our backup QB who wasn't even on the team during training camp throwing the ball to them, is a recipe that means we have to lean on the running game and TE's a lot more than we already have. Plus the defense and special teams need to step up to the plate and deliver.

Glowinski is not on the list but I heard he is nursing injuries and that is why he is less than effective this year.

The easy answer ........ next man up.

The actual answer ........ if I knew that, I would probably be working for the Colts.

Tuesday update:

https://twitter.com/zkeefer/status/1191786293178572801

Colts QB Jacoby Brissett says there’s “no question” he’s made significant progress from Sunday. Won’t reveal if he’ll practice Wednesday. Dolphins in town Sunday.

https://twitter.com/JoelAErickson/status/1191789648047149058

Ryan Kelly says he expects to play this week

https://twitter.com/jimayello/status/1191795551437828096

Zach Pascal walked into the locker room with a little limp. Nothing to worry about, he said. As Chappell said, someone probably told him he can't be hurt.

You forgot Krishawn Hogan. He looked decent and was quickly scooped up by the Saints?

Wednesday update:

https://twitter.com/zkeefer/status/1192132394691825665

Colts QB Jacoby Brissett will practice today in a limited capacity. A good sign for his availability on Sunday.

https://twitter.com/JoelAErickson/status/1192132742009495554

Reich on Brissett: "I still don't think it's a slam-dunk," but says it's encouraging.

Got to get out there and test it.

https://twitter.com/mchappell51/status/1192133086584221696

Reich: Jacoby's old-school. He took a beating in 2017. If he's ready to play, he'll be the starter.

https://twitter.com/zkeefer/status/1192133894105182208

The Colts will wait another week to bring WR Devin Funchess back to practice; he's been out the shoulder injury in Week 1.

But Pierre Desir figures to practice more this week, and Frank Reich said the team is "optimistic" the Colts get their top corner back.

Thursday update:

https://twitter.com/zkeefer/status/1192513973217890304

Colts QB Jacoby Brissett at practice for a second straight day, would indicate he didn’t have any setbacks with the knee yesterday.

https://twitter.com/zkeefer/status/1192514694965317634

Malik Hooker back at practice today after missing yesterday. He said they’re just being cautious with his knee, and he’ll be out there Sunday.

Friday update - only TY and Parris have been ruled OUT so far.

https://twitter.com/JoelAErickson/status/1192875293242986496

Parris Campbell and T.Y. Hilton are the only Colts ruled out of Sunday's game against the Dolphins.

https://twitter.com/JoelAErickson/status/1192877014522441728

No more timetable on Parris Campbell's injury at this point.

Jacoby Brissett out here practicing for the third straight day

https://twitter.com/JoelAErickson/status/1192875537586409475

Jacoby Brissett was limited, Reich says they'll take the decision right up to the game. Reich says he's encouraged, thinks Brissett looks OK, but wants to make sure they don't risk anything.

Brissett won't be 100% by Sunday, doesn't mean he won't play

https://twitter.com/jimayello/status/1192858708826640384

Jacoby was working with first-teamers.

https://twitter.com/JoelAErickson/status/1192875980018376704

Reich: "This is not an uncommon injury to play with" at a lot of different positions. Says there's a little risk of further injury, but it's not a ton.

https://twitter.com/JoelAErickson/status/1192876085337309190

Pierre Desir did not practice today.
